The Holiday is a classic Christmas comfort film and a favorite among generations.

Brits are still watching the iconic rom-com over the festive period, seventeen years after its release in 2006.

Miffy Englefield, from West Sussex, was just six years old when she played Jude Law’s character Graham’s eldest daughter Sophie in the big hit film.

While she was frozen in time on our screens as a child, she is now an adult at 24, has a daughter of her own and has even channeled Cameron Diaz to embark on her own home swap.

MailOnline spoke exclusively to Miffy about what she is up to now and what it is like to star in one of the most watched Christmas films of all time.

She said: ‘I think I’ve changed quite a bit since I was six, I think a lot of people have, but especially myself. It wasn’t until I started TikTok that I started getting recognition.

‘I’m a mother now, I have a three-year-old. I feel like that’s the biggest change. I have a wonderful daughter and I am in the very, very fortunate position of being able to stay at home with her until she goes to school, which is actually not far away at all.’

She laughed, “I feel very, very old when I think about it.”

Now she’s found fame as a content creator in a new way on TikTok, where she has 70,000 followers: The child star makes videos with her partner Alex Whivley-Conway and their little girl, Frankie.

Miffy started her TikTok journey during the pandemic, which she described as a “really weird time” to have a baby.

She explained: ‘I live quite far away from the rest of my family, so I was quite isolated. I’m really into fashion and stuff these days and I decided I was going to make little videos then it just grew from there.

‘I would start talking about the holidays there and I do a lot of second-hand shopping and things like that. It was fantastic, I met so many lovely people through it and I love it. I absolutely love posting there.”

‘I was a rather unusual six-year-old. I was very bizarre and overconfident, I think that’s the best way to describe it.

At the time, she “didn’t really understand the speed” of what she was doing – for the youngster it was another “excuse to perform.”

She added: “But it was very surreal, you know, we came from quite a poor background and lived in a council house.

‘It was very, very different from the life me and my father knew and being on a film set was very surreal.

Reminisce Filming alongside stars like Jude Law and Cameron Diaz, she said: “It was lovely. I mean, I couldn’t have asked for better treatment, and neither could my father.

‘We got along really well with everyone and they always made time for us, both off and on screen.

“He was so patient with us and there was no separation between doing the work and interacting with us – they didn’t have to do that at all, but they did.”

Miffy said: 'It's a little less cringe than when I was, you know, 16, when it was impossible. Who knows, we might watch it this Christmas.”

She concluded, “I couldn’t have asked for better people to work with it. It was easily my best experience on any film set’.

As a big fan of Christmas, Miffy enjoys being part of the festive memories and experiences of people all over the world.

She joked: ‘Oh, it’s so bizarre. A few years ago I was sent a photo of Khloe Kardashian looking on vacation. That’s insane, like that’s ridiculous.

‘A few years ago I got a message on Instagram from a lady who was getting married and she loved The Holiday so much that in her wedding book, ‘The People Signed’, she had her and her partner recreate the poster from The Holiday. , which baffles me.

‘It’s absolutely crazy. My father and I didn’t realize how big the movie would become at home.

“So to get messages 20 years later that make me feel incredibly old, that people look forward to. It’s like their Christmas tradition: they come home to their family and that’s what they watch.

“It blows my mind, it’s absolutely insane and I love it. I love being a small part of people’s Christmas traditions. I think it’s so sweet.’

Her daughter Frankie watched the film ‘as soon as she could talk’ and it has become a running joke in the family – but she herself hasn’t watched it in a few years, having struggled with ‘cringing’ at herself as a child.

Although the couple were friends on set, Miffy and her sister Emma Pritchard did not keep in touch after filming ended, but she ‘hopes she is doing fantastic’.

This year things came full circle: the 24-year-old even got to go on her own home exchange, inspired by the film that played such a huge role in her life – she ‘didn’t realize it actually existed’ and couldn’t believe it at the time she found out.

She said: ‘It was like leafing through an Argos holiday catalogue. It was fantastic. We sat down and decided we wanted the cottage experience.

‘We wanted to recreate a bit of how Amanda felt in Iris’ beautiful cottage and we found a beautiful house near Hastings.’

The family of three escaped to someone’s Tudor barn, where they explored, took a trip to a local farm shop, went fruit picking and even got to look after the owner’s cats.

As part of her collaboration with Home Exchange, the home exchange site used in The Holiday, she also got to recreate the iconic scene where Amanda, played by Cameron Diaz, lay in bed eating a feast of groceries with a bottle of wine.

With the classic knitwear, scarf and hat, Miffy really stepped into her opponent’s shoes and had ‘the best day’.

The partnership follows the launch of Home Exchange Solo Holiday Party Pack Contestwhich is open to all individual travelers planning their own trip this Christmas.

The party includes all 24 grocery items shown in the film, including red wine, delicious cheeses, pasta sauce, snowman cookies, nuts, olives, mince pies, bread, chocolates and Christmas cake, not to mention a bottle opener and a copy of The Holiday on DVD to watch while you sleep.
