Whitney Cummings has welcomed her first child, a baby boy.
“3D printed a human,” Cummings, 41, captioned a photo via Instagram on Sunday, December 17. “Enjoy the fact that I never brushed hair again.” The candid showed Cummings holding her little man, with only the newborn’s tiny hand visible on her chest.
The comedian gave birth six months after announcing her pregnancy in June.
“I am pregnant in these photos. And there’s a baby inside me too,” Cummings wrote via Instagram at the time alongside photos of herself playing in the pool with her dog. “Human puppy due in December.”
On the topic of her comedy tour, Cummings assured fans that “all your dates in 2023 [are] If it still happens, I might fall over a few times.”
Cummings showed off her growing baby bump in the snaps while wearing a tank top tied above her stomach. She was wearing gray shorts and had her hair pulled back in a ponytail as she threw a ball to her dog.
Later that month, Cummings shared an ultrasound photo with her followers and asked for help choosing her little one’s name.
“My favorite photo of my baby’s face so far. This just arrived: it’s a BOY,” she shared via Instagram on June 27. “Help me name this monster. Rusty? Dusty? Bill?”
Cummings did not reveal the identity of her child’s father at the time. She previously spoke about her romance with Alex Barnes – her last known public relationship – in August 2021.
“Right at the beginning of the [COVID-19] pandemic, I was raising a dog that attacked another of my dogs, and the little dog’s eyes came out,” Cummings explained during a 2021 appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan, referencing her and Barnes’ less-than-romantic meet-cute. “I had to rush to the vet.”
Although it was difficult to get a vet to meet her during the coronavirus lockdown, Cummings revealed Barnes eventually came to her rescue – and sparks flew later. The pair have become increasingly serious, with Cummings revealing at a stand-up event in autumn 2021 that she was already thinking about their next steps.
‘I’m in a relationship with someone and I want to be the one to ask him to marry me. Look, I’m 39. I don’t have time for him to plan a king’s quest proposal,” she joked. “So Alex, will you make me the happiest girl in the world and let me buy my own engagement ring since you can’t afford the ring I want?”
Despite being somewhat private about her love life, Cummings was outspoken about freezing her eggs prior to her pregnancy.
“I froze my eggs. They have a beautiful beach in Redondo, California. They are in better real estate than I am,” she teased during a February appearance on the channel Today show. “I want to get them out before sea levels rise and they flood, but I wanted to try to get pregnant this year.”
Cummings explained at the time that she felt like she had “all the time in the world” to get pregnant, but wanted to get pregnant by the end of the year.
