Anthony Boyle takes flight as Major Harry Crosby in the Apple TV+ series Masters of the air And We weekly thinks viewers will notice.
“I just wanted to create. I wanted to write,” Boyle told UK's The times in January 2024. “I was expelled from school at 16 and searched the internet for 'Belfast male acting auditions.' I showed everything I could.”
After finding success in theater, Boyle began booking acting roles on screen, appearing in one episode of Game of Thrones in 2014 before taking on other supporting roles. In 2019 he played Geoffrey Bache Smith Tolkien.
Boyle also shared the screen with Taron Egerton in the 2023 Apple TV+ movie Tetris, which began his relationship with the streaming service. After being cast as Major Crosby in the World War II drama Masters of the airBoyle came face to face with the show's producer Tom Hankswho offered him a great compliment.
“Tom said to me, 'I've looked at all your stuff. I feel like I've known you all my life.' And I replied, 'You're not going to believe this, Tom, but I feel like I've known you all my life too!'” Boyle told The Times, revealing the two started talking business. “He did so many war dramas and he said never to resort to sentimentality and always to be present in a scene.”
When it comes to his own career, Boyle said most of his experience came from performing on stage. “I learned to put all my energy into the job,” he added.

Boyle was born in Belfast, Ireland, where he attended De La Salle College and St. Louise's Comprehensive College. After attending the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Boyle obtained a BA in acting.

Although he has had several theater roles throughout his career, the role he is best known for is Scorpius Malfoy in Harry Potter and the Cursed Childa role he held from 2016 to 2019 in both London's West End and the show's Broadway productions in New York City.

In the same interview, he talked about how he was able to get into John Wilkes Booth's mindset Quest. “It's the most I've ever done in a role,” Boyle said.
