She met Smith at the pub where she worked in 2019 and the couple became engaged a few weeks later.

Smith's daughter Star was about six months old when she started to date Brockhill, an avid amateur boxer.

She was previously divorced from Star's father, Jordan Hobson.

Did Savannah Brockhill kill Star Hobson?

Brockhill was found guilty of Star's murder on December 14, 2021.

The court heard how the little girl endured months of abuse and psychological damage before suffering 'utterly catastrophic' and 'insurmountable' injuries at home.

Star's mother, Smith, was acquitted of murder at Bradford Crown Court but was convicted of causing or allowing the toddler's death.

Jurors heard how Smith's family and friends grew increasingly fearful of the bruises they had seen on the little girl in the months before she died, and took a series of photographs complaints to social services.

Anyway, Brockhill and Smith convinced social workers that the markings on Star were coincidental, or that the complaints were made maliciously by people who didn't like their relationship.

The jury saw several videos recorded by the couple, including a sickening clip in which an exhausted Star fell asleep on a green chair so many times she almost fell to the floor.

When she falls and pulls the chair over her, neither woman goes to help her.

In an even more disgusting move, Brockhill even took the time to edit the clip in slow motion with dramatic music.

She then sent it to a friend and said “f***ed it” as three people cried with laughter emojis.

Brockhill told the court she “thought it was funny” and that it was something you would see on the TV show You've Been Framed.

After her death on September 22, 2020, Star's main vein was found to be torn, which caused major blood loss.

She had also suffered a laceration to the liver, a tear in the fatty attachments of the intestine and bruising to the lower part of the lungs and pancreas, the court was told.

Prosecutor Alistair MacDonald QC said the injuries were caused by a serious and forceful blow or blows: “either in the form of punching, stamping or kicking in the stomach.”

After causing the injuries, Brockhill and Smith searched online for “shock in babies' and waited 15 minutes before calling for help.

Medics arrived at their flat to find Star apparently lifeless, pale and wearing only a disposable nappy.

She was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

Brockhill initially claimed that she had been in the kitchen when she heard a “bang” from the living room where Star had been playing, but she was later convicted of murder.

Brockhill showed no emotion as the verdict was handed down, making heart gestures and kisses shortly after his sentencing.

What is her prison sentence?

In 2021 Brockhill was found guilty of causing the death of 16-month-old Star.

She was sentenced to life in prison the next day jail with a minimum of 25 years.

Star's mother, Smith, was found guilty of causing or allowing her daughter's death and was sentenced to eight years in prison.

In March 2022, Smith had her sentence increased after the attorney general referred her case to the Court of Appeal – in the context of the scheme for unnecessarily lenient sentences.

Smith is now serving 12 years in prison.

Where is Savannah Brockhill now?

Brockhill is currently serving her life sentence HMP Style, Cheshire – a Closed Category prison for female adults and young offenders.

Despite her horrible crimeit has been reported Brockhill has received fan mail and cards to her prison cell of “admirers”.

Cash has also been deposited into her prison account so she can buy items from the canteen for herself.

Star's great-grandparents have described Brockhill as “pure evil” and “the devil”.

a Snapchat A video made public after her trial showed Brockhill calling herself “the number one psychopath” and threatening “boys and girls” who messaged her then-partner Smith.
