The pair met in May 2023, when LaPaglia, a fan of Bryan, attended the Academy of Country Music Awards and took a photo with Bryan. That same month, the “Something in the Orange” singer announced that he and his then-girlfriend were dating Deb Peifer ended their relationship.
The following month, LaPaglia and “BFFs” will host podcasts Jos Richards joined Bryan on stage during his show at Forest Hills Stadium in New York City. The “Plan Bri Uncut” podcast host was in another relationship at the time, which ended shortly after the concert.
In July 2023, eagle-eyed fans quickly noticed that LaPaglia and Bryan seemed to be hanging out, so she was forced to address the rumors.
“It's fun, it's casual,” she further shared the podcast “Plan Bri Uncut”., noting that she and Bryan had been talking for three weeks. “I just wanted to discuss it because the whole internet is going crazy and people are doing stuff. And yes, it really is. Just hanging out and having fun.”

She added, “For some reason I thought I would never have to say it. I thought this would be the one thing about the internet that I could keep secret.
However, fans were still confused about the timeline of their whirlwind romance – which LaPaglia has since cleared up.
“I was still at the concert with my boyfriend. And then, a few days later, Joey and I break up. And [Bryan] had already broken up with his girlfriend, and then he slid into my DMs,” she said on an August 2023 episode of the podcast 'BFFs'. “I did a podcast after we went on stage and said, 'Eat the rich next to Zach Bryan' and he posted it and then he sent me a DM and said, 'That was so sweet, thanks guys for coming.' And then we just started talking.”

“We're getting a dog today,” she revealed during one episode of the podcast 'BFFs', with cohost Richards questioning whether she calls herself “mom” when talking to Bryan's dog Jack. “I'm getting a puppy today, Josh. … He needs a sister.”
LaPaglia showed off the dog she and Bryan had adopted together.
'I'm sorry I'm going to be so annoying. But I can't stop,” LaPaglia wrote in a series of Instagram Story posts showing the pup. “She's too perfect not to post a million times.”

Bryan and LaPaglia made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2024 Grammys. The couple shared a sweet hug as they arrived at the awards ceremony. Weeks later, Bryan took to social media to celebrate LaPaglia for Valentine's Day.
“You're tough when people are rude, you're honest when it's hard, you're kind when it's easy not to be, you're funny in a world full of crybabies, you're beautiful without help, you're patient like me” I'm an idiot, you're empathetic when you shouldn't be,” Bryan wrote via his Instagram Story. “I wish this world saw you in the same light I do. For her part, LaPaglia shared her own sweet tribute with a series of photos of Bryan. “Oh hey look, it's my Valentine. I feel like you've been my Valentine forever,” she wrote via her Instagram Stories. I love you very much. Like a lot.”
