9-year-old girl raped by neighbor in Gurugram, accused arrested

The suspect is also from the same state and lives in her neighborhood, police said.

Gurugram News: In a disturbing incident reported from neighboring Delhi’s Gurugram, a man allegedly raped a nine-year-old girl. The accused was arrested from Gurugram on Wednesday.

The victim is said to be the suspect’s neighbor.

The victim’s mother has filed a complaint stating that she hails from West Bengal and lives in a slum with her family and does cleaning work. The suspect, identified as Nazimul, is also from the same state and lives in her area, police said.

The woman alleged that Nazimul lured her daughter to his room on the night of February 25, where he raped her. “He also threatened to kill my daughter if she told anyone about the incident,” she said.

The girl narrated her ordeal to her mother after returning to her house, who then approached the police and filed a complaint based on which an FIR was registered at the women’s police station, Sector 51 on Monday evening and the suspect was arrested the next day.

“The accused was arrested after medical examination of the minor and recording of her statements under Section 164 of the CrPC in the court. He was produced before the city court today and taken into custody,” a senior police officer said.
