Beauty fans are loving the $10 ‘old school’ powder that grandmas have been using for decades

MAKEUP lovers are trading in expensive powders for a budget-friendly, generational purchase.

Fans were thrilled with the $10 old-school powder that was their grandmother’s favorite.

One Amazon shopper gave a perfect score to the Air spun loose translucent powder.

“If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!” she wrote.

“This powder has been around for centuries, and there’s a reason for that.”

She tried many different powders on the market, but still returned to the affordable powders, which she considered a bargain.

“To some it may be ‘old fashioned,’ but the signature scent and super fine texture are unmistakable,” she said.

“[It’s] it reminds me of my childhood; grandma knew some things!

“It doesn’t leave any fine lines and my skin feels wonderful after application.”

She added that the powder protects her makeup from humid Florida days.

“My makeup still looks fresh, even after a day of running errands,” she says.

“I am 58. [It’s] “The price is right, you get a nice amount of powder and a little bit goes a long way.”

While the Air spun powder normally sells for $9.99 on Amazon, but is currently on sale for $6.74.

Another customer said the powder is “old fashioned, but it works.”

“The smell reminds me a little of my grandma, but sometimes grandmas know best!” they said.

“It works beautifully. I’ve been applying my foundation with it every day this week and I don’t look like an oil slick at the end of the day.”

One beauty enthusiast shared that the powder has been a staple in her family for generations.

“[My] “My grandmother started using this in 1937…it’s now a third-generation favorite,” she said.

“This little gem of a powder has been used by my family for three generations. It’s how I get my airbrushed look out of literally any foundation.”

She added that she uses the powder with a blender brush and that it also means she needs to use less foundation.

First she applies foundation with the brush and then she applies concealer on top.

Next, she uses a power puff to apply the Airspun powder under her eyes and around her face.

“Let it sit for a few seconds and then gently brush it off with a clean brush,” she advised.

“Applying powder over your favorite foundation will lighten it considerably, but I [will] “I’ll take my bronzer to fix that.”
