A COUPLE have appeared in court charged with the murder of their two-year-old grandson after he was found at their home with head injuries.

Ethan Ives Griffiths was then rushed to hospital horror in Deeside, North Walesbut unfortunately died of brain injuries.

His grandparents Michael Ives, 46, and Kerry Ives, 45, appeared at Mold Crown Court accused of murder.

Ethan’s mother Shannon Kayleigh Ives, 27, has been charged with causing or permitting serious bodily harm to a child.

She is also accused of causing it raidabuse, neglect or abandonment of a child to cause unnecessary suffering or injury.

Michael and Kerry Ives were taken into custody next one will appear in court together with their daughter on May 17.

A preliminary trial is scheduled for November 4 this year and will last three weeks.

The horror unfolded on August 14, 2021, after little Ethan found injured at the house on Kingsley Road.

He was taken to Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool but tragically died shortly afterwards.
