A rookie female cop, 24, appears in court accused of an illegal relationship with an imprisoned drug lord
A ROOKIE cop has appeared in court accused of having an illegal relationship with a drug lord.
PC Caitlin Howarth was investigated by West Yorkshire Police over her alleged links to the jailed heroin dealer.
She appeared at York Magistrates’ Court today charged with misconduct in public office in connection with the alleged relationship.
The student officer, who has been suspended, only confirmed her name, date of birth and address.
She was released unconditionally on bail to appear at York Crown Court on April 12.
Police said: “A student officer from West Yorkshire Police has been charged with misconduct in public office.
PC Caitlin Howarth, 24, who works in Bradford District, will appear at York Magistrates Court on March 7.
“The indictment relates to a relationship with a reporting association with criminal connections.
“She is currently suspended.”
Howarth also reportedly had an affair with married Chief Inspector Daniel Greenwood, 17 years her senior.
The Bradford district commander, who spent 20 years with West Yorkshire Police, has been suspended with full pay following the claims.
