New Delhi: Actor Akshay Kumar has become the first film star to visit the BAPS Hindu Temple in Abu Dhabi. The actor was clicked by the media as he entered the grand temple on the day of the inauguration. Dressed in a white kurta-pajama, the actor looked handsome. He quickly walked into the temple as the media followed him a short distance.

Akshay did not comment or speak about his visit to the newly built temple. However, he folded his hands and continued walking. The temple is a historic step in strengthening ties between India and the UAE, and Akshay was there to support the same cross-cultural dialogue. BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi on Wednesday, is the first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi. It is seen as an important step for the UAE's diverse Hindu community. The temple is beautifully constructed with intricate stone carvings and Vastu considerations. It stands at a height of 108 feet, 262 feet long and 180 feet wide.

Earlier last year, Akshay visited the temple with the team of his upcoming film 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan'. The actor was filming in Abu Dhabi when he took a break and paid a brief visit to the temple which was still under construction. He also performed the Aarti and spoke to the priest.

He then placed a stone in the structure of the temple. About visiting the site, he said at the time: “They are creating history… What they are creating is not just a service to our community, but to humanity. Creating a new world where there is peace, love and support from one person to another; there really is nothing more powerful than that… 'Love can move mountains' is a true testimony of your efforts… truly overwhelming! It's a dream of dreams (sic).”
