Aldi has reduced the prices of more than fifty fruit and vegetable items

The list includes a range of healthier choices: berries, grapes, tomatoes, apples and ready-made salads.

Here's the full list of all the items being reduced in price:

Julie Ashfield, purchasing director at Aldi, said: “This year we aim to cut more prices than ever before so we can help our customers access the lowest possible prices.

“At Aldi we strive to make healthy and varied diets affordable for everyone. Many customers often come to us because of our low prices, but stay because of the award-winning quality.”

Aldi also recently announced that it will spend a further £1.3 billion on UK suppliers by 2023, who supply more than three-quarters of all items sold in stores.

The supermarket was also named the cheapest British supermarket for the month of January by consumer group Which?.

Which? found that the average basket at the most expensive supermarket Waitrose would cost 32% compared to Aldi.

Aldi also turned out to be the cheapest supermarket of 2023.

The discounter was the cheapest supermarket for eleven months a year.

Lidl managed to beat the reigning champion in October last year.

However, this data does not reflect multi-purchase or loyalty discounts, although it does recognize special offer prices

How can I save even more on my supermarket shopping?

There are plenty of other ways to save on your supermarket shopping.

Making a list before you go grocery shopping is always a good start.

You are less likely to make hasty purchases or be tempted by unwanted offers.

Prices always vary between supermarkets and it may be worth changing your store.

Switching to your own brand can be an easy way to save hundreds of dollars a year on your food bills, too.

This means opting for 'own' or 'value' type products rather than 'best' or 'luxury' lines.

Many supermarkets also have shaky fruit and vegetable programs, where you can get cheap prices if they are misshapen or imperfect.

For example, Lidl runs its Waste Not scheme, offering 5kg boxes of fruit and vegetables for just £1.50.

Many supermarkets have loyalty programs, where you can collect points that you can spend in a later store.

For example, Sainsbury's has its Nectar Card and Tesco has its Clubcard.
