Alen Moradian shot multiple times in the head while firing at Bondi Junction

Murdered drug kingpin Alen Moradian was shot multiple times in the head at close range, rendering his face almost unrecognizable.

A source close to the investigation said the cocaine kingpin and Comanchero bikie heavyweight who was executed Tuesday morning in eastern Sydney did not leave a handsome corpse.

“He was shot several times in the head,” the source said. “Absolutely pulverized.”

The 48-year-old cocaine kingpin had also received bullets to the torso when one of the two killers apparently fired rounds into his body from a pistol magazine.

“They walked up to him and emptied a clip into him,” the source said. “He wasn’t going anywhere.”

Moradian was sitting in his black Audi in the underground car park of his Bondi Junction apartment, about to hit the gym, before being suddenly fired at around 8:30am on Tuesday.

Police continue to hunt for two gunmen and have seized two burnt-out cars – believed to have been used as getaway vehicles – which were abandoned a short time later in Bondi and Zetland.

Moradian’s car was taken for forensic examination and was seen with seven bullet holes through the driver’s side window.

Forensic teams now embark on the grueling task of conducting tests in search of vital clues that could lead them to the killers, such as DNA, ammunition or blood samples.

Meanwhile, detectives traced the Audi – which was not registered to Moradian – to a south-west Sydney rental car company.

According to The Daily Telegraph, police intelligence suggests the company has links to the Alameddine crime clan and its use – as well as Moradian’s associations – will be part of their investigation.

However, one of the getaway cars – a gray Porsche Macan dumped on James St in Bondi – may also prove vital to solving the case after failing to set it on fire completely.

In a major breakout, firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze, allowing detectives to recover an intact handgun under one of the seats.

Known as Australia’s “Tony Soprano,” Moradian is believed to have been a member of the Commission, an underworld network linked to the Comancheros that monitors the city’s drug trade.

He pleaded guilty in 2010 to importing 40kg of cocaine into Australia – though authorities suspected it was 100kg – and spent several years behind bars.

Detective Danny Doherty said Moradian’s ties to the big names in Sydney’s underbelly made him a valuable target in the underworld.

“He’s a high-level criminal identity…he’s a major player in the organized crime network and also has ties to the Comanchero OMCG (outlaw biker gang),” Doherty said hours after Moradian’s death.

“Obviously he had a big target on his back.”
