Paramount+ is home to a number of big hit shows, including classic and new Star Trek series, South Park and Halo, which just launched their second season.

“For me, there are all kinds of problems with this app. The device is not slow with any other app, on the contrary, it is fast,” wrote one frustrated user.

Months ago, viewers were outraged by a similar issue, calling it “damn frustrating.”

“I occasionally clear the app cache when things get REALLY bad, but I've never had the app fully work,” one person said.

“It frequently hangs or skips temporarily, even though I have a wired gigabit connection.”

But for those who have similar problems, there may be a simple solution.

Reddit user willwar63, who posted the most recent complaint, said “it seems to be working better” after a quick switch.

According to another Amazon Fire Stick user, the trick is to disable Paramount+'s 4K setting.

Setting it to 1080p instead apparently reduces the issues.

“Just as an experiment, try changing the display settings on the Firestick to 1080,” suggested Reddit user Whyblate.

'I'm throwing mine away' say Fire Stick owners about 'loud ads' on their TV – but there's a way to make it less annoying

“The Paramount Plus app is a resource hog.

“I couldn't watch 4K or 2K shows, like any Mission Impossible movie, the app was slow, stuttering and rebooting frequently until I changed that setting to 1080.

“Every other app has no issues with the 4k settings on the Firestick.

“When watching non-4K shows in the Paramount app, it works fine aside from the occasional glitch or slowdown.”

How to Adjust Amazon Fire Stick Video Quality

You can adjust video quality within your Fire Stick settings, but remember this changes for all apps.

To do this, go to the Institutions and search Preferences.

Select Data monitoring and turn it on.

Go back and select Set the video quality.

From here, change the quality to either Good or Better.

Test if this improves the problems you are having.

If this doesn't help and you see a specific error code, go to the next one Paramount's website for more.
