Remote pairing issues may occur during the initial setup phase or if you need to purchase an updated one for your TV.

It's hard to accidentally unpair a remote, but it can happen, especially if you're actually trying to unpair another device.

Amazon advises: “If your remote does not pair automatically, press the At home until “Press to start” appears on the screen.”

It may take about ten seconds to load, so don't worry if it doesn't appear right away.

If this still doesn't work, you may need to move closer to the TV.

While waiting for the remote to pair, be within 10 feet of the TV.

It may also help to remove the batteries from your remote for a period of time.

According to Amazon, about 30 seconds should be enough.

Then replace the batteries by pressing the Home button.

The type of batteries you use can also affect your Fire TV Stick remote.

Amazon says, “Try using a new pair of alkaline batteries.”

On some compatible remotes there is also a troubleshooting mode that can help you determine the cause of the problem.

“To check if your remote is compatible, press the Alexa or microphone button on your remote. If the LED at the top of the remote is flashing, troubleshooting mode is available,” Amazon explains.
