Andy Cohen goes well Mauricio Umanski finally addressing his feud with brother-in-law Rick Hilton on Buy Beverly Hills – and not The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“I see a lot of people online saying that me or Bravo should be angry because Mauricio is revealing things on Netflix on his show, but I would say a lot of what he reveals is his story to tell,” Cohen, 55, said on Wednesday March 13, episode of SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen livenoting that what Kyle Richards shares RHOBH is “her side of the story.”
“So people think, ‘Oh, Bravo should be furious. Why is he saying this on his show?’ Well, it’s his show on Netflix,” Cohen said, referring Buy Beverly Hillswhich launches season 2 later this month.
While he “can’t speak” for Richards, 55, “on any level,” Cohen said his “feeling is that she probably wanted to go that far in her show because she didn’t want to further complicate an already complicated situation. relationship with her sister.”
Cohen also teased that he had spoken to Richards and her sister Kathy Hilton (who is married to Rick) about their version of events during the RHOBH reunion, the last part of which will be broadcast on Wednesday.
“I took the opportunity tonight, as we discussed what happened with Mauricio and Kyle’s marriage, to also find out from Kathy and Kyle from their perspective about what happened with Mauricio and Rick Hilton’s rift, so you don’t have to wait for the Netflix show to get their answer,” Cohen said. “You’ll see that tonight on Bravo.”
The family tension was previously only hinted at in recent seasons of RHOBH.
Meanwhile, in a clip from the upcoming season of the Netflix show, Umansky, 53, revealed what led to his past feud with Rick, 68. After trying to become a full partner with a stake in the Hilton real estate firm, he explained he expresses that he was “actually” told no by Rick.
“Then I went home and talked to Kyle. I say, ‘This is really going to cause a lot of stress between you and your sister and your family. And I don’t want to do this step of leaving and starting a business if you don’t feel comfortable,” he said. “She was 100 percent supportive.”
Umansky eventually left Hilton and Hyland and started his own brokerage, The Agency, which is now the subject of Buy Beverly Hills.
“I think Hilton and Hyland is a great company and I would never be caught dead talking bad about them because I don’t think bad about them,” Umansky said in a confessional. “And I’m Rick’s brother-in-law. But unfortunately things turned sour because it really affected the family, Kyle more than anyone else. You know, her family stopped talking to her.”
He continued, “But she understood that what was done to me was wrong, and she stood by me, and in the end, that’s what I needed.”
After Umansky’s claims were put in the spotlight, Paris Hilton slammed him for repeating the drama on his show.
“My father is a consummate gentleman and has always taken the higher road. He would never speak negatively about his family – especially not in the press,” 43-year-old Hilton responded on Wednesday on the Queen of Bravo’s Instagram account. “Honestly, we’re all tired of him using the name Hilton every chance he gets to plug his lame show. It’s enough already.”
