It’s a big night in fashion, attracting A-listers and stylish stars.

But some celebrities sadly missed that mark on Sunday at the third annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles.

From oddly colored ‘nude shades’ to over-the-top ruffles and bright orange prints, some on the red carpet turned heads for all the wrong reasons.

At the head of the poorly dressed pack was Chrissy Teigen.

In a rare miss for the cookbook author, Chrissy, 38, opted for a Tony Ward Haute Couture number with an extreme collar in a mermaid-inspired style.

Meanwhile, Saoirse Ronan looked more beach dress than red carpet, wearing a nautical shell-style crop top and matching skirt.

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model also wore a pair of gold open-toe heels and a small clutch.

To complete her overall look, Teigen had her brunette locks pulled back from her face and into a stylish bun.

Meanwhile, Saoirse Ronan continued the nautical theme in a shell-style crop top and matching skirt.

The 29-year-old star showed off her toned midriff in a white pleated bandeau crop top which she paired with a matching maxi wrap skirt.

She paired the look with silver heeled sandals and walked the red carpet without a bag.

While Saoirse could be accused of being a little too bland, Lily Gladstone had the opposite problem.

The actress, who had her big break this year in Killer of the Flower Moon opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, opted for a bright orange dress.

With a V-neckline and exaggerated skirt, the star looked more 1950s than 1920s.

Elsewhere, New Girl star Zooey Deschanel seemed to channel more of an old girl in an ’80s-inspired ensemble.

The 43-year-old actress opted for a blue ShuShu/Tong sequin set from the Shanghai-based label’s AW23 collection.

The duck egg blue ensemble was paired with flats and a silver clutch, while oversized ruffles made the look seem childish.

Actress JaNae Collins also opted for a throwback look, in lace-up leather leg warmers and a one-shoulder dress.

Billie Eilish looked more dressed for the office than a red carpet in a double-breasted suit jacket and a maxi skirt with a plunging neckline.

The What Was I Made For singer traded in her usual street style and baggy clothing and teamed the suit-inspired look with a headscarf and chains.

Meanwhile, the Haim sisters, usually style superstars, missed the mark in boring, monotone songs.

Este, Danielle and Alana wore drop-waist cut-out dresses and maxi skirts.

This year’s fundraiser honored legendary actress Meryl Streep, Creed actor and director Michael B. Jordan, Lost In Translation filmmaker Sofia Coppola and media mogul Oprah Winfrey.
