Freevee is Amazon’s free, ad-supported streaming service, offering dozens of free movies and TV shows.

“I’m so sick of the app being flooded with Freevee and paid content,” reads the title of the Reddit thread.

“I pay $140 for Prime, I don’t pay for no ads (which still won’t solve this problem),” the user said.

“I hate ‘watch on Freevee’ because a) I don’t watch movies with commercials and B) I can’t install my Samsung Freevee anyway,” she added.

“There doesn’t seem to be a way to disable this, remove Freevee content or yellow paid content.”

The Reddit user emphasized that they only want to see what’s available on Prime for free.

Since the Reddit post went live, it has received dozens of upvotes and some solutions in the comments.

“Just scroll down a few inches and tap/click the blue Prime icon under ‘My Subscriptions,’” one person explained.

“Click on the blue Prime logo and it will only show Prime content. I think on a smart TV there is also a ‘free for me’ thing you can use that does the same thing,” another user noted on.

A few other users urged the Reddit thread owner to cancel their Prime subscription altogether.

Lower costs on your favorite streaming services!

“Cancel Amazon Prime. First off, you’ll be charged for the ‘free’ shipping,” a third person said.

“I have a Roku stick. The Roku Channel has a lot of good free movies and shows. I avoided watching movies on the Roku Channel for a long time because there were a lot of ads,” she added.

“But now there’s only one commercial break for an entire movie. I can’t even watch Freevee because the amount of ads is crazy,” she added.

AMAZON PRIME

Currently, Amazon Prime costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year – including Prime Video.

Meanwhile, Prime Video as a standalone option will set users back $8.99 per month.

The platform became the latest streaming service to introduce ads to content.

It now joins the other four most popular streaming sites in the US: Netflix, Disney+, Paramount+ and Max.

FREE

Freevee was founded in 2019 and is currently only available in the US, UK and Germany.

The app unlocks hundreds of titles legally – and is available to anyone with a smart TV or console.

The idea is that you get free television, but in return you have to watch advertisements.

Most recently, the platform added several new channels, including the NCAA March Madness Channel.
