William Gallas gives his opinion on Arsenal's party police

Former Arsenal star William Gallas has voiced his support for the Gunners players after Jamie Carragher criticized Martin Odegaard's post-match celebrations against Liverpool.

Speak with Genting Casinohe said: “I think the players had a lot of pressure on their shoulders before that match.

“That match was very important for them because they knew they had to fight for the title. I think if they had lost against Liverpool yesterday they would have been out of the title race.”

“When you're under pressure it's never easy to get on the pitch, it takes so much focus and concentration.

“When you win a match like that, emotions come up and you have to celebrate after the match. I don't know how long they stayed on the field after the game, but the title race is still on and there are fifteen games left in the season.

“At the end of the season you have to be sure that you will become champion, otherwise people, especially fans, will jump on you!

“If Carragher wasn't happy with the celebrations of the Arsenal players after the match, and if Liverpool win the Premier League, I'm sure Carragher will be making jokes about yesterday's match celebrations. Arsenal need to play every game the way they against Liverpool!”

PL icon says Arsenal are better positioned than Man City for title challenge

Dimitar Berbatov claims Arsenal are in a better place than Man City to win the league this season.

Speak with Honestlyhe said: “We now have a three-horse race for the Premier League title.

“I was hoping Aston Villa would upset Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City but unfortunately, despite their 5-0 win over Sheffield United, Villa dropped points in games I expected them to win.

“Arsenal are in a great position after their win over Liverpool and if they correct the mistakes of last season then I think they are in the best position to win the Premier League.

“You can't say everything is done because Man City have a lot of experience. They came from behind last season so they know what it takes to lift the trophy.

“Despite Liverpool's loss to Arsenal, the Reds are still a force to be reckoned with and they will fight to the end, but at the moment Arsenal are the team for me. If they stay smart I think they can win the can win the title.” Premier League.”

Arteta refers to Rice's role as captain

Mikel Arteta has hinted that Declan Rice could one day wear the Arsenal captaincy.

Asked about his leadership qualities, Arteta said: “Yes, he has all the skills.

“When he talks, people listen and pay attention – and he has the natural ability to do that.”

Arsenal clap as Barcelona join the race for Everton star

Barcelona will join the race to sign Amadou Onana, but only if Everton drop their £51m asking price.

Like the cash-strapped Toffees, Barcelona have their own financial problems and, as things stand, cannot afford to go beyond £34 million.

But the Spanish giants are keeping a close eye on the Senegalese international's situation.

Everton are hoping to organize an auction for the midfielder this summer, with Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea among the clubs keen to have him on their shortlist.
