A bargain hunter saw the discounted item at the local store and couldn’t wait to share it.

She posted the find on the Facebook groups Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK.

The shopper shared a photo of the item and wrote: “20p towels in Asda”.

She followed the caption with two clapping hands emojis.

The post received 65 likes and more than 30 comments.

Fellow deal-finding professionals praised the huge reduction, with one saying: “Brilliant for animal shelters!”

Another simply wrote: “Omg.”

While others tagged their friends to share the bargain find.

The towel is rated five stars on the Asda website and customers say they are “lovely and soft”.

The towel is machine washable and tumble dryable, and Asda said it will resist fading for up to 50 washes.

‘It’s all breathtaking!’ say shoppers as they race Asda to get their hands on Stacey Solomon’s new spring collection and prices start from just £3.50

Of course, it’s worth bearing in mind that while the shopping cart rate is being reduced at the Asda store in Somerset, this may not be the case at other branches.

Typically, individual stores tend to massively reduce these types of items when they want to clear out excess stock.

This means that you also have to be quick to spot and pack them.

It’s always worth calling your local store before heading there to make sure you aren’t disappointed.

You can find your nearest Asda store using the store locator on the chain’s website.

The supermarket usually sells the towels for the full price of €3 and they are currently available online.

Make sure you take into account any additional delivery costs if you buy online.

Also remember that you should always shop around when purchasing something like this.

Just because Asda has reduced it to £3.50 doesn’t mean you can’t get it cheaper elsewhere.

You can use Google Shopping search or websites such as pricepy.co.uk, which allow you to compare products and their prices.

Although in this case you won’t find the exact same product at other retailers as it is exclusive to George Home.

We looked online for similar style products and couldn’t find any cheaper than Asda’s, however.

Ikea is selling towels from £3, while Dunelm shoppers can pack them for £1.20.

Although they are both quite cheap, they are still slightly more expensive than Asda’s offering.

The towels aren’t the only item that has recently been reduced at the supermarket.

Shoppers rushed to buy a “beautiful” 12-piece dining set that scanned for £6.

As foodies rushed to buy a Ninja air fryer, it was reduced from £220 to £55.

One shopper was thrilled to see the popular 20-gallon Dual Zone Air Fryer at the bargain store.

And Asda fans are in the race to buy a kitchen gadget that costs just £10 and can help you cut your energy bills.

Meanwhile, an Asda superfan has shared her top tips on how to cut your grocery bills by £100 every year.

What’s more, Asda has made a big change to its stores to help shoppers with the cost of living – and they’re very happy about it.
