SHOPPERS flocked to Asda after the supermarket announced a major change to help shoppers with the cost of living.

The supermarket is now offering all its customers a free bowl of porridge and a hot drink every day until March 20.

The offer is available from 8am to 12pm in all 205 Asda cafes.

There are no eligibility criteria, no minimum spend required – all you have to do is ask for the deal at the counter.

You can find your nearest branch using the store locator on the Asda website.

Shoppers have taken to social media to praise the initiative, which is being run in partnership with Quaker.

One shopper wrote on Facebook: “Well done Asda. It’s a great idea. Lots of people will be very grateful.”

Another added: “What a great idea, lovely for young people to get a hot breakfast.”

A third wrote: “Well done Asda for looking after your community and customers.”

While others joked: “Yes… and then get a fine for slightly exceeding the parking time in the car park.”

And it’s not the first time Asda has offered a deal to help customers struggling with the rising cost of living.

Last month, shoppers aged 60 and over could also get hot soup and a sandwich with unlimited tea and coffee for £1.

The retailer has also made its Kids Eat for £1 meal offer permanent across all its cafes.

This initiative includes baby food, with little ones able to get a free pouch of Ella’s Kitchen baby food at their local Asda cafe.

Meanwhile, Asda shoppers are also praising the company’s products for helping them with their energy bills.

An excited shopper recently took to a Facebook bargain group to post a photo of a duvet set she bought from Asda’s homeware brand George.

She captioned the post: “£5.50 in asda st austell is quite a bargain considering they cost around £20 in tesco.”

This is the “Super Snuggly Teddy Fleece” comforter set.

It promises warmth and comfort like no other blanket on the market, and is available in different sizes.

Another shopper was stunned to find all of Billie Faires’ clothes on offer for £1 at Asda’s Southport branch.

The shopper posted her garment on Facebook with the caption: “Lots of Billie Faiers clothes reduced to £1, all for £7 (bought in Asda Southport).”
