New Delhi: Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Richard Marles was introduced to Delhi’s vibrant street food culture on Monday. He enjoyed a refreshing glass of nimbu pani, a popular Indian lemonade, from a local stall. Demonstrating his familiarity with India’s digital payments ecosystem, Marles conveniently paid for his drink via the UPI system. Later on the day, he indulged in the treat of Ram Laddu, a traditional Indian street food, to further immerse themselves in the culinary delights of Delhi, according to a report by ANI.

Earlier in the day, Richard Marles interacted with the young cricketers and also played ‘gully’ cricket at the Arun Jaitley Stadium ground in Delhi on Monday. Marles was joined by the 14-18 year old young cricketers on the stadium grounds. The Australian leader also paid floral tributes to former Union Minister Arun Jaitley at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Earlier today, Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Richard Marles, together with Foreign Minister Penny Wong, visited the National War Memorial in Delhi and laid a wreath.
The two Australian leaders will co-chair the India-Australia 2+2 dialogue later this evening along with their Indian counterparts, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.

A 2+2 ministerial dialogue between India and Australia will soon take place

The second India-Australia 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue will take place in the national capital on Monday and is expected to discuss a wide range of strategic, defense and security issues between the two countries, an official statement said.

Furthermore, the 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue is a cornerstone of the India-Australia relationship and an opportunity to move forward in working together to shape the type of region they want. Earlier, Richard Marles said: “India is a top-tier security partner for Australia and our comprehensive strategic partnership is one of practical, tangible actions that directly benefit the Indo-Pacific region.”

Further noting that there have been a number of firsts in the defense relationship between India and Australia this year, including an Indian submarine visit to Perth and the Australian hosting of Exercise Malabar, Marles added that all this demonstrates the growing close bond between the defense and security partnerships of both countries. the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs said. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Wong said the India-Australia partnership is critical to the stability and prosperity of our shared region.
