An Australian shopper couldn’t believe her luck when she scored a huge shopping deal at a bargain price – and the food will last her for weeks.

The Melbourne shopper was shocked when she was able to buy four kilos of meat, a large quantity of vegetables and several basic necessities for just $62.59.

She went to Preston Market and Aldi, but initially worried she wouldn’t be able to make ends meet until her next payday.

“I didn’t have my last $200 yet [for the next 10 days] after my savings were wiped out by two unexpected expenses,” she shared on Reddit.

“The cost of living is becoming very tough.”

However, she hit the supermarket jackpot.

She was able to buy 1 kg of chicken drummettes, 1 kg of chicken wings, 1 kg of minced pork and 1 kg of minced beef.

The woman also scored eggs, carrots, 5kg of potatoes, 2kg of onions, sweet potato, celery, cabbage, frozen spinach, tinned tomatoes and spring onions – along with fruit such as apples and bananas.

She also stocked up on tomato sauce, kewpie mayo, pasta, bread, tuna, coconut milk and toilet paper.

“This store will focus on making bulk curry, okonomiyaki, pork noodles and pasta dishes that will last you a while,” she said.

Hundreds of other Australians cheered her catch and revealed their own changing habits.

“I’ve been going to Queen Victoria Market for a few months now and looking for sustainable alternatives for our everyday items (tissues, cleaning products, etc) to avoid ever having to go back to Coles,” one person said.

‘Easily save €100-200 per week, eat much more fresh and unprocessed food and almost no unhealthy snacks. Something we should have done much sooner,” she added.

Another wrote: ‘That’s a good yield for a pretty good price in these times, and very healthy food. On the right track.’
