Kenny Braasch and Mari Pepin got married this weekend in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico.

The couple exchanged vows at the romantic Hacienda Don Carmelo on Saturday with 65 of their loved ones after two years together.

The reality TV star, 42, and his now-wife, 27, previously met and got engaged during season seven of Bachelor in Paradise.

In an interview with People which was published the day after their ceremony, the bride opened up about the significance of their wedding date.

“I believe in signs and numbers, and so obviously 11/11 is seen as a special number and it means good things,” Pepijn revealed before noting that they also planned to have their wedding take place on Veterans Day.

Pepijn explained that the date carries an extra sentiment because her father served in the military for 25 years.

“I’m his only daughter, so that’s special,” she said, adding that they want to give her father a nice memory during the holidays.

“He hasn’t had the best association or memories with Veterans Day, so hopefully we’ll change that this year and for Veterans Day in the future,” she continued.

As for how they decided to have a wedding in Puerto Rico, Pippin said much of her family lives there.

By having their wedding ceremony there, she and Braasch were able to keep their big day “smaller,” “easier to manage” and “more intimate.”

Two of their special guests for their wedding in Puerto Rico were their dogs, Dice and Monster.

Pippin said they flew their precious puppies out and had them dress up in tuxedos for the ceremony.

“We definitely wanted our dogs there, so they flew with us,” she added. “That was a bit of an adventure.”

She explained that they also want to have other celebrations and hinted at a possible party with their Bachelor Nation friends.

“We’ve always had the idea of ​​organizing a few other celebrations so we can get more people involved as well,” she said.

The newlyweds chose Foreigner’s I Want to Know What Love Is as the song for their first dance.

“When we walked in, that song was playing and everyone was dancing slowly,” Braasch remembers.
