Disney/James ClarkMichelle Young wasn’t convinced she’d find a partner back home in Minnesota, but that was before a mutual friend introduced her to her boyfriend Jac Leius.
“We experienced devastating ruptures [and] we were in the same phase of our breakup that we were going through ‘Not ready to meet someone’ [to] “Ready to meet someone” and then take those few steps back,” Young recalled of Leius during a January 2024 appearance on the “Almost Famous” podcast, noting that there were many invisible connections between them. “We go to the same bars…the lake where he grew up, my family fishes [there] 24/7.”
Leius, for his part, added that their eventual meeting resulted in the couple spending “four days together” and “were dating by Sunday.”

Young – who is divorced from fiancée Nayte Olukoya in June 2022 – went public with the romance between her and Leius in October 2023. However, the former bachelorette hinted at their relationship a month earlier.

September 2023
Young took a party bus with friends to the Minnesota State Fair. Leius was one of the many friends featured in her social media summary video and she later shared a close-up of the couple holding a giant stuffed animal they had apparently won.
October 2023
“Hit the Jackpot with you 🫶🏾,” Young captioned two photos with her husband via Instagram, kicking off the relationship.
The teacher left for Mexico with Leius that same month to celebrate a friend’s wedding. He was also featured in her video report of a group outing to a Viking competition in October.
November 2023
“About the past few months… 🙃,” Young wrote via Instagramin which she recaps the early days of her relationship, including dinner with friends and family gatherings.
December 2023
Leius shared his own summary on social media of his budding romance, captions for the snaps, “Like a pair of jeans,” to which Young said, “Made just for me 😜.” Later that month, the pair enjoyed a escape to the snow.
January 2024
Young brought Leius as her date The Golden wedding. As a civil servant Susan Noles While cuddling with Leius during the ceremony, Young teased, “Susan is trying to steal my husband.” Young shared an Instagram Story video in which Noles joked, “I found a date, I found a date!” as she hugged Leius.
Young revealed that she had a better solution, saying, “You can have your own season,” and reminded her that Leius is “out” for Noles’ potential suitors. “@thesusannoles for 2024 Golden Bachelorette so she keeps her hands off my man,” Young added.
