It also has a manual control option. It is better to integrate it now than order the regular ones now and integrate them later at a high cost,” he added.

Bengaluru Namma Metro: Driverless trains will be deployed on the Yellow Line

All self-driving metro trains will only be used on the Yellow Line. Infrastructure for the 19.15 km route covering RV Road-Bommasandra line via Electronics City and Central Silk Board has been completed. It cannot be used because it requires special coaches.

The shells of coaches for two train sets have already arrived in Titagarh and are being prepared. “A total of 21 regular Distant to Go (DTG) trains will be used for Phase-I extension lines,” the official said, adding that China will send the first prototype in the coming days.

According to several Metro sources, the line’s commissioning will likely be postponed until September this year. There are several tests and clearances to be completed, and several dates have also recently been announced by politicians and the governor.
