Bengaluru may get new flyovers on certain stretches of Namma Metro; Details here

Bangalore: The city of Bengaluru could get new flyovers along certain stretches of the metro line as the Karnataka government has sent a proposal to the Center to solve the traffic problem in Silicon City. Deputy CM DK Shivakumar on Sunday stated that the state government has decided to build flyovers on parts of the metro lines to decongest traffic in the city. “A proposal has been sent to the Center in this regard,” Shivakumar said.
While speaking at the 'Government at Your Doorstep' mass grievance event in Jnanabharathi, Shivakumar said his government is committed to the development of Karnataka, especially Bengaluru.

“The Chief Minister has announced many projects in the Budget to develop Bengaluru. The BBMP budget will be presented soon and will be in addition to the projects announced in the state budget. We are preparing feasibility report for tunnel roads near Yeshwanthpura, Sumanahalli, Goraguntepalya, etc,” ANI quoted the deputy CM as saying.

“We have so far completed the massive grievance redressal programs in twelve Assembly constituencies of Bengaluru City and have received around 20,000 pleas. The Chief Minister also performed Janaspandana twice. A separate team has been constituted to examine the pleas received. The complaints will be dealt with in phases,” he said.
Taking a shot at the BJP government, Shivakumar stated that people have heard a lot of promises from the BJP government but now they will see real work.

“You could probably only hear the promises in the BJP government, but you would see our work now. Our guarantee schemes reach 95% of the people. The remaining 5% of people are not reached due to technical problems. We also plan to provide a subsidy for installing solar panels on your terrace. We delivered as promised. We do not pursue a policy of emotion, but of building livelihoods. Our government programs are aimed at reducing the burden of price increases,” he added.

Bengaluru: Survey the properties

The Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka also highlighted that the state government had taken up the work of inspecting all properties in Silicon City and sending all property documents to the doorsteps of the people under the 'Namma Swattu' Yojana.

“The state government has conducted a pilot document verification project in your constituency and some officials have tried to tamper with some documents. A complaint has been registered against them and an FIR has been lodged. There have been many complaints about the property tax penalties, we are bringing a change in the law,” said Shivakumar.

“All street vendors must register so that the government can allocate them a place to do business. They cannot do business on sidewalks intended for pedestrians,” he added.
