With Bengaluru being hit by a serious water crisis, Mahindra has proposed a unique way to tackle the problem of water scarcity in the city.
Solution to Bengaluru’s water crisis: Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra is an avid user of social media platforms and keeps sharing content of different tastes and categories, ranging from funny to intelligent, and content related to society.
With Bengaluru being hit by a serious water crisis, Mahindra has proposed a unique way to tackle the problem of water scarcity in the city.
He shared a video on X showing how air conditioners can be used to harvest water.

Anand Mahindra’s X message reads: “This should become standard equipment across India, wherever people use air conditioning. Water is wealth. It must be stored safely… 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Spread the word.”
In the video we see a window air conditioner and a hose connected to the outlet which is connected to a cylindrical container with a tap at the bottom. If necessary, the stored water can be used for washing, cleaning, gardening, etc.
Bengaluru has been grappling with a water crisis for about three weeks now, which the India Meteorology Department (IMD) blamed on poor rainfall in 2023 and the El Nino effect.
The message has generated many reactions. I’ll share a few with you.
