A Canadian security guard has been arrested after walking into his local town hall and opening fire after going on an anti-woke, pro-Gaza tirade on social media.

Bezhani Sarvar, 28, brought a gun into Edmonton City Hall and shot several bullets before throwing a homemade Molotov cocktail on Tuesday. No one was injured.

He now faces six charges for the attack in Alberta after he surrendered.

CCTV footage of the attack shows Sarvar shooting randomly left and right inside the public building, shattering glass outside a meeting room, before taking off his jacket and walking away with the gun in his hand.

Sarvar was an employee of the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, a non-profit security company originally created to employ ex-military members.

In the video titled 'Rise up', which has since been removed from YouTube, Sarvar railed about what he believes is wrong in the world – from wokeism to the fighting in Gaza.

Sarvar sits in the driver's seat of a car and wears a commissary jacket.

In the video, which has since been removed from YouTube, he said: “Before I do my mission, I want you all to know that I'm not a psychopath. I don't believe in bloodshed.

“I'm not one of those monsters who hurt children, who hurt innocents.

“I'm just tired of seeing tyranny and corruption take over our society and our lives. We need good men and women in all workforces to advance pro-human living.”

Sarvar went on to say that people must become doctors, police and politicians to “stand up against this wokeism disease that is leading our generation to deception.”

The suspected gunman told his followers to “rise up” and “stop this genocide that is happening in Gaza and around the world.”

“Anyone who destabilizes other countries and hurts their communities should be ashamed of themselves. Inshallah we will rise up against you and bring you to justice.”

Referring to his “beautiful wife and children,” he continued, “I can't just sit back and let this happen. I cannot see our society crumbling into darkness.

“We all need to rise up, we all need to stop using our phones, we need to promote a healthy social life where we all communicate with each other.”

He then went on to rant about taxes, water and healthy eating.

Sarvar said, “We need to have control over our taxes, how they are spent, and tax money should be spent on us and it should be spent on something that is pro-life, pro-human and someone who is beneficial to us. us and our children.

'We need to start filtering our water. We have to pay attention to what we eat. We need to start eating healthy. Our officials need to start promoting healthy choices, healthy diets and exercise.

“They have to unite us all and we all have to do something positive for our society.”

'Inshallah I will succeed in my mission. If I can't do it, I know someone else will do it for me.'

The National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) said after the attack: “While more investigation is needed, based on an alleged video manifesto, the attacker appears to have given a plethora of reasons for his attack.

'But [he] appears to be motivated primarily by an alt-right agenda involving concerns around council taxes, inflation, the cost of living and hatred of multiculturalism – what experts call 'salad bar extremism', motivated by concerns about the mental health.

“We encourage Canadians to continue investigating before reaching any conclusions.”

Sarvar was in court in Alberta on Thursday. His attorney, David Ibrahim, asked Judge Steven Bilodeau to reschedule his bail hearing for Feb. 2.

He is charged with reckless arson of an occupied property, possession of incendiary material, use of a firearm during the commission of a criminal offense, careless use of a firearm, throwing an explosive substance and discharging a firearm in a building.
