A PAIR of single friends who were tired of waiting for men decided to move in together and buy a small house that lived off-the-grid.
Savannah and Casey, who met while working in a restaurant, have now built their dream place in the country with the money from their successful side job.
They first came up with the idea of building a tiny house from scratch while camping for a month in California.
Initially, they assumed they would find partners and buy their forever homes, but the couple was single and tired of waiting.
Savannah, 35, and Casey, 43, decided to set up a side business installing stock tank pools, which are metal versions of wading pools.
Thanks to the rise of people improving their homes during the lockdown, company blossomed for the affordable hot tub alternatives.
Although the cost of houses can be shockingly expensive, the friends only had a budget of £39,500 for their DIY project.
This was from their income, selling everything they owned and taking out a small loan.
However, they set out to find the plot of land of their dreams and soon found a remote area about a two-hour drive from the nearest town that they wanted to keep private.
She next one constructed a driveway and a shell of a 40-by-30-foot building that they would convert into their home over time.
Speak with Business insider, Casy said: “For most of my life I thought I would be married by 43.
“But early on in our friendship we both said, ‘Well, we’re not going to wait for all that to happen.'”
“Although we don’t share that kind of physical intimacy of married people, it is still a commitment to another person.
“It’s fun. I think more people should buy land with their friends.”
The project wasn’t easy, as the pair did almost everything themselves – and they lack Uber Eats’ delivery distance.

However, they wouldn’t trade their slow pace of life and say returning to their peaceful home is a “relief.”
They couldn’t afford to rent a house during the renovation, so they moved into an RV while they worked.
Two years later, the couple moves in and doesn’t have to pay a mortgage or bills, but they do have to pay for internet access.
The friends share a bedroom, have a wood stove to heat the house and have solar panels on the roof to generate electricity.
Their bathroom is currently in a separate building and consists of a compost toilet and a shower with hot water from a propane heater.
Savannah and Casey say people ask what they will do if they do find partners, although they say there isn’t much of a dating scene in their area and they don’t use dating apps.
The couple insists they will cross that bridge when they get to it, with Casey adding, “I want single people to feel like you don’t have to wait to do something until you find your romantic partner.” And you can still want that. , but don’t put your life on hold. Life is fun at every stage.”
