A BOY has died after a TikTok craze went tragically wrong during a sleepover.

Tommie-Lee Billington, 11, was found unconscious at a friend’s house on Saturday.

The youngster was rushed to hospital around midday before being pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

Devastated Tina Burns said on Wednesday that the craze had already killed two teenage girls.

Tina said: “He died immediately after a sleepover at a friend’s house. The boys had tried TikTok craze.

‘Tommie-lee went in cardiac arrest immediately and died on the spot.

“The hospital did everything they could to bring him back, but nothing worked. He was gone.

“Just like his father, he had a heart of gold. Our family is devastated.”

Tommie’s mother Sherri said the trend cost her her son’s life as she begged parents not to let their children use the social media app.

She posted up Facebook: “This cost my son his life because he tried something that other kids were doing.

“Please talk to your children about the consequences of this.

“It’s beyond me why anyone would even try this! It’s so dangerous!”

The Lancaster schoolboy was described as the “life and soul of every room”.

One of his teaching assistants, Tina, has since warned other parents about the trend.

Tina said: “We don’t want other children following TikTok or being on social media.

“In fact, we want TikTok to be taken down and no children under the age of 16 allowed on social media.

“This breaks us all, but we want to help save the lives of other children and make families aware of the safety of their children.”

Lancashire Police have launched an investigation and are treating Tommie’s death as unexplained.

a Police The police spokesperson said: “We were called by the ambulance service at 12.04am on Saturday March 2 to an address on Greenset Close, Lancaster, to a report of a sudden death.

“Emergency services attended an address and found an 11-year-old boy unconscious.

“Unfortunately he was later pronounced dead.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and the coroner has been informed.

“A police investigation is underway and the boy’s family is being supported by officers.

“Our thoughts are with the boy’s loved ones at this incredibly sad time.

“If anyone has any information they are asked to contact police.”

TikTok has been contacted for comment.
