And the ex-Everton star has held talks with Argyle’s second-tier rivals, who are vying for his services as he enters the final six months of his current contract.

The Pilgrims are yet to make a new bid for Galloway, which would allow the other Championship teams to secure his signature.

The centre-back has been a standout player for Argyle this season.

Galloway made 20 appearances for the Devon club, scoring against Leeds in the 4–1 defeat in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

He joined Argyle on a free transfer from Luton in 2021, who were promoted from League One last season.

Galloway represented England at Under-17 to Under-21 level before transferring to Zimbabwe, the country of his birth, in 2021.

He has since won two senior international caps.

The defender has regularly struggled with injuries in recent years.

He was limited to just six games for Luton in two seasons.

During his first Argyle campaign, he suffered a season-ending knee injury in November 2021.

Where are they now: the unusual careers of former footballers

After returning last season, he made 18 appearances as the Pilgrims won League One under Steven Schumacher, missing much of the campaign and its run-in due to hamstring problems.

After being ruled out for the first three months of this term, he has become a regular under Schumacher and then successor Ian Foster, playing in 17 of Argyle’s last 18 Championship games.
