As a diehard foodie blessed to be based in Mumbai, I consider myself fortunate to live in a city that reflects the incredible diversity of India through its cuisine. This bustling metropolis forms an irresistible food trail through iconic Iranian cafes, coastal seafood havens, fashionable gastro bars and more that keep my taste buds happy 24 hours a day!

Come along as I take you through 6 fantastic restaurants in Mumbai, serving up my favorite meals, showcasing the city’s knack for blending traditions and trends through food.

1. Britannia and Company – Grandfather of Parsi Cuisine

Stepping into the quaint interior of Britannia and Co near Ballard Estate, I feel comfortable visiting a friend’s homely kitchen, serving delicious Parsi recipes passed down from generation to generation. Going strong since 1923, this Mumbai icon is stocked daily with their signature sali boti mutton, patra ni machhi and the pièce de résistance: juicy berry pulav infused with a variety of Iranian berries.

2. Trishna – Bombay style coastal flavors

For the perfect infusion of aromatic spices with succulent seafood, I head to Fort’s Trishna, which has been reproducing the tangy Konkani and Mangalorean flavors of the Konkan coast for decades. Crab and fish, fresh from the sea, pair brilliantly with deep-fried goodness, served in a relaxed environment with flashy retro Bollywood posters.

Comfort food favorites, from British meatloaf to Goan shrimp curry, Chinese schezwan noodles to American apple pie, almost give you worldwide bragging rights about cuisines covered in a single meal!

This little hideaway packs a fiery punch with their fiery molagai curry, garlic podi idlis and signature Mysore masala dosa served endlessly throughout the day.
