An airline passenger smashed a glass bottle and stabbed a fellow passenger in a frenzied attack on a British Airways flight to the Caribbean on Monday.

Shocking footage shows flight BA2159 from Gatwick to St Lucia erupting into chaos when a fight broke out between several passengers about an hour and 20 minutes after landing.

The pilots had no choice but to continue flying to the island’s Hewanorra International Airport in Vieux Fort as the relentless cabin fight continued.

According to the St Lucia Times, the brawl started when a passenger, who had been arguing back and forth with another man during the flight, snapped and stormed into the Boeing 777 jet’s kitchen.

The aggressor, a St. Lucia man wearing a bucket hat and glasses, allegedly smashed a bottle in the galley and sprayed shards of glass across the food preparation area before walking back up the gangway and knocking down the bottle’s jagged edges. in his enemy.

Heroic passengers and staff then swooped in to separate the pair, but not before the unarmed passenger suffered a severe gash and blood spattered into the cabin.

“One man was stabbed in the torso and the other man in the back of the head before another gentleman and I were able to appease this man who bought a duty-free bottle of wine which he used to commit the deed.

“Fortunately, the escalated situation was dealt with quickly and business as usual was maintained.”

Another source told The sun: ‘It was a really frightening experience for the overcrowded passengers. There was much understandable dismay.

“The men argued the entire flight after takeoff from Gatwick Airport.

“The argument turned into shoving and shoving, but then all of a sudden it got really mean.

The cabin crew finally got things under control and, with help from the pilot, alerted Saint Lucia officials before the plane landed.

Police arrested the attacker without incident after the plane landed, while those injured were taken to hospital for further medical care.

A spokesman for the St. Lucia Police Department said the matter is under investigation, adding: “We are investigating this with immediate effect. This is a very serious case that occurred on an airplane. This is indeed very serious.’

The identities of the passengers involved have not yet been released.

A British Airways representative said: ‘We are appalled that anyone is acting in this manner and are grateful to our well-trained cabin crew and customers who have supported them in handling this difficult incident.

“We want to assure customers that this behavior will never be tolerated and that we will always take appropriate action.”
