EASTER junkies can get a brand new treat this year as Cadbury releases a new twist on the favorite classic.

The new delight was recently posted online and fans of the beloved chocolate brand are divided over whether it will be a hit.

The release was posted to the Facebook group New Foods UK, a group where foodie Brits post about new snacks on the market, as well as returning fan favorites and sales.

The message read: “New Cadbury White Chocolate Creme Egg Easter Egg spotted at Asda.”

Cadbury first released the white chocolate cream egg in 2023, after announcing it in November 2022, and it was the treat's first innovation in five decades.

The creme egg had the ever-favorite gooey center, but was instead dipped in white chocolate instead of the brand's basic milk chocolate coating.

When the snack was first released last year, it was so popular with chocolate eaters that it went out of stock two days before Easter, leaving hungry fans without their new favorite item on the gluttonous day.

The variant is now supersized – ready for Easter 2024 – but foodies are divided over whether or not the treat will pop or break.

Commenting on the post, one user said: “I'm not the biggest fan of creme eggs, but this could be a game changer.”

While a second user said: “If I don't get one this year I'm going to cry.”

And a third said: “This is the one I want.”

A fourth commenter tagged their partner and said, “If you really loved me you'd get me one before you go to work.”

But not everyone was very enthusiastic when they looked at the new variant. Some said they would rather stick with the original, while others said they don't like how small the eggs look in the carton.

One user said: “They're disgustingly sweet, I'd rather stick to the originals.”

And a second said: “The egg is probably three times smaller than the carton.”

While a third said: “Not for me, Cadbury isn't the same anymore.”

Whatever the reaction at the moment – and given the huge popularity of the cream egg variant last year – it's expected to be a hit with fans across the country.

Cadbury has been busy in recent months, with all kinds of releases landing in stores for their loyal customers.

Earlier this year, the cocoa company launched a new Mini Egg flavor, prompting consumers to say they “need a bigger cart” after seeing the snack on store shelves.

And an old favorite was welcomed back to supermarkets as Cadbury 'relaunched' their CaraMilk bars, but in the form of an Easter egg.
