Cardi B and Offset sued for allegedly damaging rental properties in Los Angeles
Cardi B And Offset have been sued for allegedly damaging a rental home they were staying in in Los Angeles.
This is evident from court documents obtained by We weekly, the rappers are being sued for breach of contract and negligence by the owner of the LA property. The owner claimed that Cardi, 31, and Offset, 32, had lived in the home for 20 months and left the property “without notice” in October. The documents also alleged that the musicians did not pay rent or utilities for a “period of time.”
When they left the house, the owner claimed there was “significant property damage,” including broken furniture, holes in the walls and permanent scratches and stains on the limestone tile floors, rugs and curtains. According to the records, there were also burn marks on items such as tables, counters and cabinets.
The cost to repair the damage is at least $85,000. The owner claimed that both Cardi and Offset have “ignored” multiple attempts to resolve the issue.
News of the lawsuit comes weeks after Cardi said she and Offset are no longer together.
“I’ve been single for a minute now,” the “Bodak Yellow” rapper said in an Instagram Live earlier this month. “The last time I came on Live… I actually wanted to tell you, but I didn’t know how to tell you. So I thought, ‘I’ve changed my mind.’”
That same week, Offset shut down allegations that he cheated on Cardi with rapper Chrisean Rock.
“I never talk or touch that lady,” Offset wrote afterward Blueface accused him of infidelity. “Real talk, man, you need help!”
The pair sparked rumors of a split in December after they unfollowed each other on Instagram. “You know when you’re just growing out [sic] relationships,” Cardi wrote cryptically via her Instagram Story in early December. ‘I’m tired of protecting people [sic] feelings… I HAVE TO PUT MYSELF FIRST!”
