Carol McGiffin has celebrated her sixth wedding anniversary with her toyboy husband Mark Cassidy with a romantic holiday in Bangkok.

The former Loose Women star, 63, shared a series of Instagram photos of her and Mark, 42, sipping bubbly in the Ari district to celebrate their special day.

As they spoke about their stunning love affair, Carol revealed that they fly to the exotic holiday destination every year to celebrate their milestone – with the exception of two years during the Covid pandemic.

The couple beamed from cheek to cheek as they shared intimate snaps along the coast, enjoying decadent food and sparkling drinks.

It looked quite chic as they were pictured enjoying a glass of red wine on the back of a private boat.

Carol's loved-up post read: 'Six years ago yesterday, Mark and I got married at the Ari District Office in Bangkok.

'We've been coming here to celebrate every year since, except during the Covid-b******t years of 2021 and 2022 when we weren't allowed to due to vaccination restrictions.

'Normally we would go for an all-you-can-eat lunch buffet, but it was on a Thursday, so we went back to the place where I celebrated my 50th birthday in 2010 (last photo), the Chrakabongse Villas on the banks of the Chao Prayer River with spectacular views of the world-famous Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), which is located directly opposite.

'It's such a special place for so many reasons and if you're ever in Bangkok, try to go there as the location, views and food can't be beat.'

Carol first met her husband in 2008, when she was 48 and he was just 26, before tying the knot in a secret ceremony in Bangkok in 2008.

She was previously married to radio and TV presenter Chris Evans. The couple exchanged vows in 1991 before splitting three years later, and their divorce was finalized in 1998.

It comes just weeks after Carol launched a blistering attack on her previous show Loose Women.

MailOnline revealed in May that she was forced to quit after a bizarre radio rant claiming the Covid pandemic was a plot by the World Health Organization to take over every government.

In December, Carol, who has appeared on and off the show since its launch in 2000, called the program “very woke” and “doesn't miss it at all.”

Speaking about her dramatic departure, Carol told Women's Own magazine: 'No, I don't miss Loose Women at all. My pronouns are P and Off. It's just very awake and I can't deal with the wakefulness.

'That's not the reason I'm not here. I'm not there because of other things.'

She added that she misses her co-stars but “doesn't miss being on TV.”

MailOnline contacted ITV for comment at the time.

Carol announced in May that she had left the lunchtime show in protest. ITV insisted she signed a contract with clauses that were 'completely unjust and unworkable'.

The Mail on Sunday subsequently revealed that a row over freedom of speech was at the heart of her departure, following a response to her tirade in an interview on TNT talk radio.

In it, the original panelist also accused renowned mainstream news organizations of conspiring to brainwash the public, causing a massive mental health crisis, after being “bought off by the government.”

Carol added that she believed then Health Secretary Matt Hancock was trying to bring in Covid patients from France to fill “empty hospital beds” in Britain at the height of the pandemic.

ITV chiefs saw a response to her rant on social media, while others called the network to demand she be sacked.

Carol, who was married to DJ Chris Evans from 1991 to 1998, last appeared on Loose Women on March 2, a week before her TNT Radio interview for The Freeman Report, with James Freeman.

She was a regular on Loose Women from 2000 to 2013 and then again from 2018.

But in her radio interview she hosted the show, one of ITV's most popular daytime programmes, hinting she had been censored by bosses.

She said: 'I always think back to when I started working in television and radio as the good old days because there were a lot less police, I think. Much less restricted and it was a freer place to be.

'When I look back at the old Loose Womens that I did from 2000 until I left in 2013, they are completely different. There is so much transgression. People take so much offense to so much and they never have.”

Carol said she was forced to leave the show after a row over her contract, which had been running since January.

She said: 'The problem was that, for the first time since I went back in 2018, ITV insisted that if I wanted to continue with the show I would have to sign a contract which was totally unfair and unworkable for me, so I had to say : “No thanks”. No one in their right mind would have signed that contract.”

An ITV spokesperson said at the time: 'ITV will not comment on speculation surrounding individual contracts.

'We understand that Carol has decided to leave Loose Women and we wish her the best.'
