Cat Deeley’s most embarrassing TV moment has resurfaced after he became the new presenter of This Morning.

The presenter, 47, has taken over alongside Ben Shephard, 49, after both Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby stepped down from their roles last year.

Cat is no stranger to live TV, but one particular incident stands out in her memory as her most embarrassing moment in her 26-year career on screens.

When asked ‘what was your most embarrassing moment?’ in an interview with The Guardian she said: ‘When I presented Stars In Their Eyes, during a dress rehearsal. I had to walk up a steep slope in heels, and there was so much dry ice that I couldn’t see anything.

‘I ran into the doors instead of through them. Because the show would start in twenty minutes, they had to patch up my bleeding nose with powder so that the blood would clot.’

Cat took over from Matthew Kelly as host of Stars In Their Eyes in 2004 and presented it until the show ended in 2006.

In 2006, she began hosting the second season of the American reality show So You Think You Can Dance, replacing newsreader Lauren Sánchez.

Cat’s first week on This Morning was praised by fans with many viewers raving about her ‘stunning’ style and natural beauty.

But the star admitted this week that she has had her fair share of flaws during her two decades on television.

Speaking to Ella & Jo Cosmetics, beauty ambassador Cat explained how she keeps her look so fresh – and the moments when things went a little wrong.

Cat went into detail about her morning and evening routine, saying the first thing she does when she gets up, “which is pretty boring,” is to drink a cup of hot water.

‘I used to have hot water and lemon, but don’t do that, folks; it will damage your teeth,” she admitted. ‘I know, I did it for 20 years and I had to go to the dentist and she said, “You’ve taken all the enamel off your teeth, don’t do that, take hot water.”

And while she looks flawless every day, she admits to having experienced many a beauty disaster in her time.

“I had a terrible perm,” she said. “I had one eyebrow, then I had two very thin eyebrows.”

The former Stars In Their Eyes host went on to reveal that she once cut her hair very short and it ended up looking like a ‘giant mushroom’.

“I had red hair, dark hair, blonde hair,” she added. “There’s nothing I haven’t done.”

But she’s grateful for her doubts about beauty, saying that making mistakes is the key to finally feeling comfortable in your own skin.

She said, “I think you have to go through that to find out what doesn’t work for you and find out what does work for you. And sometimes I feel incredibly boring, but this works for me.’

While viewers were full of praise for Cat and her co-star Ben Shephard this week, others did pick up on an annoying habit of Cat’s.

Some fans pointed out the veteran host’s habit of interrupting guests, including celebrity chef John Torode.

Fans of the show were particularly annoyed by Cat and Ben frequently talking over each other as they made their way through the different segments of the show.

Highlighting her performance as Torode – a show regular – talked them through his ultimate Thai green curry, one unimpressed viewer wrote: ‘Is this the Cat Deeley show? She never stops making noise!’
