Morena, Madhya Pradesh: Two students shot at their former teacher in Madhya Pradesh’s Morena district on Thursday after an argument over tuition fees. The shocking incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed near the crime scene.

According to a report by ANI news agency, the victim, identified as Girwar Singh Kushwaha, is the director of a coaching center where the accused students studied. The incident occurred around 11am on Thursday in front of a Maida factory on Jaura Road in the district, the report said.

The accused students are brothers and have been identified as Vivek Rathore and Vinay Rathore.

According to reports, Kushwaha was teaching an English class at his coaching center when his ex-students called him and appeared to be having a normal conversation with their former teacher before shooting at him and riding off on their two-wheeler.

According to the victim, he has no animosity with the students and has no idea why they shot him. However, it is suspected that a dispute over unpaid tuition may be the motive behind the shooting.

Kushwaha received a bullet in the stomach and was rushed to the district hospital and later transferred to a medical institution in Gwalior for advanced treatment. His condition is said to be critical.

“Two students who studied at the coaching institute two years ago did not pay the school fees that teacher Girwar Singh used to charge them. Frustrated by this, the former students made a plan and shot at the two individuals near Maida Factory, Jaura Road and fled from the spot on bicycles,” said City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Morena Atul Singh, according to ANI .

The senior officer said the police received information about the incident, arrived at the scene and rushed the teacher, who suffered critical bullet wounds, to the district hospital from where he was referred to Gwalior after first aid.

The CSP said a case of attempted murder has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and launched searches to arrest the duo.

“Further investigations are underway,” he added.
