New Delhi: The 2023 State Assembly Elections were announced a few months ago in five states namely Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. The date of counting of votes for all states is December 3, 2023, but the election date is different for different states. Today, on November 7, Chhattisgarh Assembly Election 2023 Phase 1 And Mizoram Assembly Election 2023 Voting is taking place. Amid elections in Chhattisgarh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses a meeting in Bishrampur, Chhattisgarh Surjapur, where he said that the Congress government has failed to grasp it Naxalism in the state. Coming down heavily on the Congress government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that when Congress comes to power, the courage of terrorists and Naxalites will increase in the country.

“Every time Congress comes to power, the courage of terrorists and Naxalites increases in the country. The Congress government has failed to control Naxal violence. In recent times, many BJP workers have been taken from us. A few days ago, one of our workers was shot dead,” PM Modi said. He further said that under Congress rule, human trafficking and drug trafficking are increasing in Surguja division of Chhattisgarh.

“Our sisters and daughters are being targeted by criminals. Many girls from tribal families have gone missing. Congress leaders have no answer to this. Due to Congress’ appeasement policy, it has become difficult to celebrate festivals in Surguja region of Chhattisgarh,” he said. Prime Minister Modi continued his attack on the Congress, claiming that the Congress was trying to prevent Droupadi Murmu from becoming India’s first tribal president.

Prime Minister Modi further added that the BJP has formed Chhattisgarh saying, “BJP ne banaya hai, BJP hi sawaregi” (BJP has been formed and now we will only make things right in the state). “Under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the BJP formed Chhattisgarh. Today, the entire Chhattisgarh is saying, ‘BJP ne banaya hai, BJP hi sawaregi,'” he added.

The voting for the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections for the first phase is underway. Chhattisgarh has recorded a voter turnout of 22.97 percent till 11 am, according to the Election Commission of India. Government data shows that the highest voter turnout is 34.65 percent in Kanker, followed by 32.5 percent in Kondagaon, 28.84 percent in Antagarh, 27 percent in Mohla Manpur, 23.21 percent in Khairagarh, 23.21 percent in Kawardha , 25 percent in cents in Khujji, 18.36 percent in Jagdalpur and 19.97 percent in Bastar. The lowest attendance of 9.11 was recorded in Bijapur.

Elections began at 7 am for ten seats including Mohla-Manpur, Antagarh, Bhanupratappur, Kanker, Keshkal, Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Dantewada, Bijapur and Konta. Voting for the remaining assembly constituencies including Pandaria, Kawardha, Khairagarh and Dongargarh Rajnandgaon, Dongargaon, Khujji, Bastar, Jagdalpur and Chitrakote began at 8 am. The state of Chhattisgarh is undergoing elections in two phases, with the second phase scheduled for November 17.
