Five people were crushed after hanging out of an SUV while the driver pre-formed donuts during a “street takeover” at a Colorado Springs strip mall.

The incident happened just after 10:15 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of The Market at Spring Creek in southeast Colorado Springs.

When police arrived on the scene, they found several passengers seriously injured. They were taken to a local hospital and their condition is unknown at this time.

The driver was identified as Marisol Wentling, and she was not seriously injured.

She was arrested for reckless driving and taken to jail on Sunday. KTV reported that Wentling was released on bail Monday morning.

An SUV overturned Saturday evening after the driver performed donuts in a parking lot and five passengers were hanging out of the vehicle

Video taken by an onlooker shows the SUV reversing at a high rate of speed as they hang out of the windows and sunroof.

The car makes a sharp turn as it slides and rolls over.

The two people on the right immediately hit the ground, seemingly crushed by the full weight of the SUV, while the other three are thrown out the windows.

The SUV then completely rolls over before people rush over to help those hanging out of the vehicle.

As bystanders grab those trapped in the car, the video changes to a different angle and shows the underside of the car.

The lights flash on and off briefly as audience members try to turn the lamp over, but the man recording says, “There’s someone on the other end.” Don’t turn it around, don’t turn it around!’

The car horn then goes off when someone else says: ‘It’s leaking, that stuff is leaking.’

The five passengers hanging out of the car suffered life-threatening injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital. Their condition is unknown.

“Push up,” says another.

There is no update on the current circumstances of the passengers.

Multiple street takeovers across the state drew up to 1,500 cars from nearby states as they tore through at least four cities and left one officer injured.

The officer was hospitalized after being attacked while trying to complete a takeover in a Milton car park, where police were pelted with fireworks.

Police say the group was responsible for other street takeovers across the state, including in Derby and New Haven.

“Some vehicles traveled from New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Vermont for this event,” Shelton Police Detective Richard Bango said. CT Insider.
