The return of Gladiators after more than two decades away from screens has captured the imagination of the British public.
The show is being rebroadcast on BBC One and has been rebooted for the second time, having been made into a series for Sky One in 2008, following the original 1992 ITV series, which ended in 2000.
One contestant in particular that is catching viewers' attention is Comet, whose real name is Ella Mae Rayner.
The 28-year-old, from Hertfordshire, is a former gymnast who has also worked as a highboard diver and competed as a cheerleader at national level.
Away from competition, the athlete appears to live a lavish life full of glitz and glamour, with breathtaking vacations, a stunning fashion collection and an entrepreneur boyfriend.

James runs a fitness and personal training company called LDN Muscle with his twin brother Tom.
Speaking about her character on the show, Ella May shared Radio times: 'Being a Gladiator encompasses everything I am and everything I have worked towards.
'She encompasses femininity and strength combined. She is always smiling and friendly, but she is not someone to underestimate as she has her strengths and excels in the competitions she enters.”
Outside of competing against Gladiators contestants, Ella Mae has also embarked on luxury vacations in the past, posting a summer photo from the Myconian Avaton Resort in Mykonos, Greece.
Private villas in the resort can accommodate as many as ten people, with these luxury villas measuring up to 200 square meters and equipped with private swimming pools.
Booking one of these rooms in June will cost a staggering price of just under £3,300 per night.

After the injury, she wrote on Instagram: “To my fellow gladiators, family and close friends.
“I'm struggling to find the words to describe how grateful I am for all of you. From the bottom of my heart, you couldn't have shown me greater compassion, love and support throughout the entire show.”
“You all showed what it really means to be a team.”
