Crisp lovers are ‘shocked’ after Walkers confirms it has axed another popular flavor after discontinuing Beef & Onion
British crisp lovers have been disappointed to hear that another popular flavor has disappeared from shelves.
Walkers confirmed to a snack fan on X (formerly Twitter) that it no longer makes Salt & Vinegar Quavers.
Further disappointment was expressed that the news was only revealed after the sharp giant responded to a fan.
The social media user named Linda asked X, “Have you stopped making salt and vinegar quavers?” I can’t find them anywhere.’
To which Walkers replied: ‘We’re sorry to tell you, Linda, but we don’t make this flavor anymore.’

The chip giant confirmed in a post on social media that it no longer makes the flavor, which disappoints customers
This led Linda to complain: ‘and without notice. This is a sad day.’
Another fan of the flavor added: “shocked that you took away salt and vinegar quavers.”
And an otherwise disappointed snack shopper wrote: ‘we need to talk!! I’ve been trying all summer to find the ranges that combine flavors from other chips – monstrous pickled onion on walkers’ chips? None of them – NEVER FOUND!! And what happened to salt and vinegar – not a good summer.”
Meanwhile, reports from July indicated that some were already experiencing delivery issues, although this seemed to have gone unnoticed by most snack enthusiasts.
A post tagged Walkers said: ‘Why can we no longer buy salt and vinegar quavers, my husband absolutely loves them and has type 1 diabetes, and he likes them because you cut them back in terms of calories, none of the supermarkets in our neighborhood’ area sell them, but eBay sells them.’
Another said: ‘Have you stopped taking salt and vinegar again? I can’t find them anywhere!’
To which Walkers admitted: ‘We’re sorry, but this flavor is no longer part of our range. Unfortunately, they were not as popular as we had hoped.”
The flavor was originally launched in 1993, but was reportedly pulled from shelves sometime around 2011, with the chips only being sold in their original cheese flavor for a while.
A number of customers have contacted Walkers about the missing chips, with one customer even revealing they had seen them for sale on eBay
However, in December 2020, it was announced that Salt & Vinegar Quavers would return to shelves in January 2021 due to high demand. However, the return was short-lived and they were dropped again earlier this year.
It comes at a time when the retailer is shelving another popular option: the beef and onion flavour
People are distraught after Walkers revealed they are dumping their popular beef and onion flavour.
The chip giant confirmed to a fan earlier this month that the flavor had been discontinued on X, much to the dismay of many.
“Hi Ian, we know there were a lot of people who loved Beef & Onion, but sometimes unfortunately there just aren’t sales so we have to make changes to our range,” they wrote.
