David Beckham is thrilled as he collects his first egg after traveling to £6million Cotswolds farm to check in on his flock of chickens
David Beckham collected his first egg from the chickens his wife Victoria gave him for Christmas on Friday.
The former footballer, 48, traveled to their £6million farm in the Cotswolds to check on his flock after some of his birds started laying earlier this week.
David shared on Instagram on Friday the moment he found his first egg, after spending hours researching the best way to encourage his chickens.
In a video, David told fans: 'I'm coming to see if there are any eggs because I haven't actually been here to see and see the first egg, so I'm back now and let's have a look.
“They were on top of it, I did some research and changed a few things, so guess what? This is the first time they have been there and that is very exciting.'

David wrote in the caption: 'I mean the excitement of finding eggs and learning what they need is pretty amazing @victoriabeckham @brooklynpeltzbeckham @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham #HarperSeven we're having breakfast, we might have to share a little, I don't know either surely why I whisper .'
David's followers praised his enthusiasm, writing, “Your excitement makes me excited” and “I love this, waiting to see if there's an egg as an adult is like a child waking up on Christmas morning!”

Elsewhere, Victoria, 49, showed off her outfit as she got ready for a date night.
Looking at her reflection in the mirror, she told fans, “Okay, so I'm just trying to decide what to wear for date night tonight. I think I'll go with this tuxedo, but I love this bracelet.”
At Christmas, Victoria set up a chicken coop for David to add to his beehives on their sprawling property.
On Instagram, the fashion designer proudly showed off the brood of Beckham chickens complete with rooster.
From behind the camera, Victoria showed off the chicken coop in the garden of their Cotswolds home and asked: 'What did you get for Christmas, David?
“A few chickens and a rooster,” the footballer replied as his wife continued: “Beckham's chickens.”
