Davina McCall has been awarded an MBE for services and broadcasting after a television career spanning more than twenty years.

The 56-year-old Masked Singer panelist received the award at an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace this afternoon.

She was joined by photographer Nick Knight and fashion designer Roksanda Ilinci, who also received their honors.

After hearing she had been included in the King's birthday honors to receive an MBE, Davina previously opened up about how much it meant to her.

She said at the time: 'I can't believe it. It is a great honor and it really means a lot,” she previously said in a statement.

Not only that, McCall recently admitted that she has been regularly sending letters to the royals since a young age.

“It's a little weird,” The Masked Singer panelist said. 'I have been writing to the royal family since I was eight. I started with a letter to the Queen. I got a letter with the wax on the back.

'I then wrote one to Princess Margaret, [and] to Princess Diana after the Panorama interview.

'I wrote to Prince Charles during his 'Climategate' when everyone was making fun of him. I wrote to William and Kate.'

She added: 'When I got my MBE I got a letter from Prince William saying: 'I just want to congratulate you. We are so happy for you'. It meant a lot to me.'

Davina started her TV career presenting in 1994 on MTV Europe, before moving to Hitlist UK the following year.

But her big break came in 2000, when she landed the role on the then Channel 4 reality show Big Brother.

She then presented the hit British show until 2010, as well as several series of the weekly eviction spin-off and celebrity edition.

Shortly after McCall began hosting the weight-loss show The Biggest Loser on ITV, although the series was canceled in 2012.

Her latest project, announced last year, saw her star in the 'midlife Love Island, My Mum, Your Dad', which was hugely successful in its first season.

In addition to her program presentations, McCall is also known for her social justice and charity work, although she has occasionally combined the two.

Since 2005, she has often been part of the line-up of celebrity presenters for Comic Relief's Red Nose Day and only yesterday it was confirmed that she will be returning this year.

She also appeared in the 2021 Stand Up To Cancer telethon, where she paid an emotional tribute to her friend – Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding.
