Demi Jones and Olivia Hawkins fear the trolling from Love Island is ‘more heightened than ever’ as they both issue worrying statements on the back of pal Georgia Steel’s online abuse

Demi Jones and Olivia Hawkins have feared that trolling has got increasingly worse on this years Love Island All Stars series.

On the back of Georgia Steel’s online abuse, the former Love Islanders have issued worrying statements on Instagram, warning harsh trolls to be ‘mindful’ of what they write.

Georgia, 25, has been a divisive figure on the show after becoming embroiled in a love square with Toby Aromolaran, 24, Callum Jones, 27, and Tom Clare, 24, admitting she has feelings for all of them.

During the PDA Awards on Sunday, Georgia was branded ‘sneaky’ as her connections with the three boys were revealed to her fellow Islanders, prompting a pile on of trolls.

Demi, 25, who was dumped from the All Stars series last week, has since shared a long message to her fans on Tuesday – after fellow islanders Elma Pazar, 30, and Francesca Allen, 28.

She wrote: ‘I feel like the comments and trolling about contestants in this series have been more heightened than ever. I don’t know if it’s because we’ve been on the show before that people are struggling to distinguish ‘just an islander’ to a real human being.

‘I’ve been so lucky to have so much love and support since appearing on the show, however I’ve seen first hand the effects of trolling on those around me and how much it actually impacts them…

‘It’s been really difficult and upsetting to hear and see it first hand. I’m also thinking about my friends still on the show who are unaware, but will switch their phone on in a couple of weeks time and see every video/ comment and message.

‘We have so so much fun on Love Island! But please remember it’s just a show and conversations and situations are edited. So please be aware and mindful of what you are writing and saying.

‘Having light hearted discussions about the show is fun! However defaming people’s characters is not.

‘I just feel like I need to say something because my eyes have been opened the last couple of weeks of what I’ve seen.

‘The show is so incredible and I’m enjoying every minute, so let’s enjoy Love Island for being the fun, romantic and enjoyable show we all know and love!!

‘And just remember to think about your words before you press post, and be mindful at what your sharing or engaging with online if you wouldn’t like it said about yourself or someone you love. Thank you!’

Following Demi’s message, Olivia, 28, took to Instagram stories on Wednesday and shared a quote which read ‘if you can’t be kind, be quiet’.

Alongside it, she wrote: ‘Please think before you send a hateful message to someone. Seeing the nasty comments @geesteelx has received are completely unacceptable.

‘It’s a lot for one person to take in when they’re released from the Love Island bubble and trust me we do read them.

‘Think twice and if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.’

Meanwhile, Georgia’s best friends Elma and Francesca have begged trolls to ‘take it easy’ on the star and revealed they too have received death threats because of their association with her.

The duo, who appeared on series five of Love Island, spoke out in solidarity with Georgia’s family after they issued a statement about the vile abuse they had received.

Issuing a joint statement on the matter, Elma and Francesca penned: ‘Georgia is our friend and it’s really sad to see death threats and extremely nasty messages towards her – not only in her DMs but also ours and her family’s.’

It continued: ‘Everyone’s entitled to their opinions, just take it easy. Love Elma & Fran xxx’

Their statement came after Georgia’s family hit out at cruel online trolls after they targeted her on social media in recent days.

A statement on her Instagram Stories on Monday read: ‘Love Island is an amazing TV show and we have loved watching this series as much as everybody else.

‘The last few episodes have been difficult for us to watch, but what’s far worse is the hate Georgia is receiving online.

‘It’s a TV show and everyone has their opinions, please remember it’s not real life!

‘Sending vile threats and nasty messages and comments is totally unacceptable. Trolling is not OK.

‘Georgia is a daughter, granddaughter, sister and friend, and these hurtful comments will not only devastate her when she leaves the villa, but have deeply hurt those around her.

‘For the messages of love, support and kindness we see you and we thank you!’

They added in a separate post: ‘There is power in kindness.’

An ITV spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘We would always urge our viewers to be kind when engaging in social media conversations about our Islanders, and to remember that they are real people with feelings.’

Georgia was coupled-up with Callum before her head was turned by Tom Clare and former flame.

However, Georgia hid this from Callum and when they shared a night in the hideaway together she told him he was the only person she wanted to be there with.

Her comments were exposed during Sunday night’s dramatic PDA Awards, with her secret flirting being shown to her fellow Islanders in a clip.

Georgia took a heartbroken Callum for a chat by the fire pit during Monday’s episode, when she tried to insist that she liked him as a much as Toby, despite being seen saying the opposite during the PDA Awards.

Callum said: ‘The only thing I’ve said to you in the process is to be honest with me. If you just let me know these things.

‘It’s so confusing and it’s actually really hurt me. I’m not going to get in the way of you and Toby.’

Georgia said: ‘But I like you too. And I know you’re angry at me for saying I’m confused and I get that. But I like you as well as him.’

However, Callum replied: ‘I know but for me I can’t see past the things that have been said and done.’

Georgia admitted: ‘Maybe I should’ve handled things differently. In some ways I wish Toby had never done that.’

Love Island All Stars continues on Tuesday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.

LOVE ISLAND ALL STARS: MEET THE CAST

Georgia Harrison

AGE: 29

SERIES: 3

Why are you returning to the Love Island Villa? This is the last year of my 20s so I want to go in the Villa and have some fun and hopefully meet someone that I can fall in love with. I’m lucky in the sense that I’ve got everything in my life that I could possibly wish for, apart from love.

If you had to pick your top Islanders from Series 1 to 10 to couple up with who would they be and why? Chris Taylor, he’s hilarious and the main thing I’m attracted to is a man who can make me laugh. What a fun guy and like I said, I’m looking for someone to TikTok with so I reckon he’d be game for that sort of stuff!

Georgia Steel

AGE: 25

SERIES: 4

Why are you returning to the Love Island Villa? I’m 25, I have a house, a cat, a nice car – I have everything in life but a boyfriend, so why not give it as go.

You’ve been brave and honest in opening up about being conned by a former partner. How has this experience impacted the way in which you now approach dating?

I take that experience as a really positive reflection now. I look at it as something I had to go through to make me stronger and learn things in life for me to be able to learn what I want in my next partner.

Molly Smith

AGE: 29

SERIES: 6

What do you need to know? Molly entered her season as a Casa Amor bombshell and managed to turn Callum Jones’ head.

It’s believed she ended things with Callum after three years because she ‘wanted to get engaged’ but the offer was seemingly not forthcoming.

Arabella Chi

AGE: 32

SERIES: 5

What do you need to know? Despite a fleeting stint on her series she has hit the headlines with a series of high profile romances since, most recently with footballer Ruben Dias.

She was linked to former French rugby player Yoann Huget and  DJ Tom Zanetti. She also enjoyed a brief dalliance with fellow All Star Toby Aromolaran.

 Tom Clare

AGE: 24

SERIES: 9

Why are you returning to the Villa?

I found love last time, so I am back and ready to give it another go.

What will you do differently this time round?

Last time I did exactly what I wanted and got the girl that I wanted, so no I wouldn’t do anything different.

Why do you think the Villa is the perfect place to find love?

When you’re with someone 24/7 you really get to know them. It can be such an alien environment, so you really get to know someone in a short space of time. It’s Love Island – it’s the best place!

Casey O’Gorman

AGE: 27

SERIES: 9

Why are you returning to the Love Island villa? I didn’t find love the first time round so I’m hoping it will be second time lucky.

I had the most amazing experience before, so get me back in that villa.

Who do you have your eye on? I’ve got my eyes on Molly, for sure. I genuinely think she is a 10 out of 10. Georgia H as well – I know her and we have had a good time together. It’ll be interesting to see if it can develop in any way.

Joe Garratt

AGE: 27

SERIES: 5

What do you need to know?

Joe was the resident sandwich man on Love Island, due to owning his own business.

He soon embarked on a relationship with Cornish surfer Lucy Donlan, but is now single and hoping to find the woman of his dreams in the South African villa.

Eve Gale

AGE: 24

SERIES: 6

Why have you returned to the villa?

‘I’m going to go in with an open mind and fully immerse myself into villa life, I’m going to try and have more fun with it.

‘I’m 24 and although that’s young, I want to be married by 28 so I need to get a move on. All my friends are starting to settle down, I feel like it’s my time too.’

Toby Aromolaran

AGE: 24

SERIES: 7

Why are you returning to the Love Island Villa? If I’m Single and Love Island is an opportunity for me, how could you turn down the chance to find love again?!

You were in a long term relationship with Chloe Burrows, what do you think her reaction will be when she hears you are going into the Villa? I don’t know how she would take it. We will always have love for each other and I think she would wish me the best of luck, as I would certainly do the same.

Chris Taylor

AGE: 33

SERIES: 5

Why are you returning to the Love Island Villa? Last time I was only there for 15 days, so I want to do it and enjoy it all again. I am 33 now and getting on a bit – I am getting ear hair! It would be nice to have a girl to keep my ears trimmed for me!

How did the Barbie Movie come about? I was invited to an afterparty by Margot Robbie and then ended up at an after party with her. I started to panic and make conversation with her, just having really stupid chats. All I can assume is that my silly chat made an impression on Margot Robbie. 18 months later I got an email from Warner Brothers.

Anton Danyluk

AGE: 29

SERIES: 5

Why are you returning to the Love Island Villa? For me it was a no brainer. I got the call and it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity and probably the best summer I have ever had in my life. Getting the chance to do it twice is going to be unbelievable.

Why do you think the Love Island Villa is the perfect place to find love?

I think this time with Love Island: All Stars, things will be different, as we all understand what it’s like to go on Love Island and the only thing now missing is finding a partner.

Callum Jones

AGE: 27

SERIES: 6

What do you need to know? Callum caused shockwaves in his series when he ended his romance with Shauna Phillips and recoupled with Molly Smith in Casa Amor.

The couple went on to have a three-year relationship, even moving in together in Manchester but split last year, months before an awkward reunion in the Love Island All Stars villa.

Josh Ritchie

AGE: 29

SERIES: 1

What do you need to know? Joshua, was one of the original Islanders in 2015 and has since made a name for himself on reality TV shows including Ex on the Beach and Celebs Go Dating – and because of his highly publicised romances.

He dated fellow All Stars contestant Georgia Harrison as well as Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby.

Sophie Piper

AGE: 24

SERIES: 6

Why are you returning to the famous Love Island Villa?

I had a fun experience the first time around but I didn’t go the full way and find love, so I’d love to find someone this time.

What will you do differently this time round?

I’m quite chilled and don’t want drama, so I think I will approach this time round in a similar way. I’m a one guy kind of girl.

Why do you think the Villa is the perfect place to find love?

It’s a once in a lifetime experience and not something that comes up every day.

 Joanna Chimonides

AGE:  27

SERIES: 5

What do you need to know?

Viewers will remember Joanna coupling up with ex-boyfriend Michael Griffiths after they met in Casa Amor, which left his partner at the time, Amber Gill, heartbroken.

But Amber went on to win the series and the £50,000 cash prize with Greg O’Shea after fans fumed over the way she was treated by Michael.

As she enters the show for a second time, Joanna, who dated England footballer Ben Chilwell, has vowed not to play it safe – and will tread on toes if she needs to.

Jess Gale

AGE: 24

SERIES: 6

Why are you returning to the villa?

‘This time around I feel more mature and focused ready to find my future husband. I’m ready now, we’ve had so much fun the last few years I’m ready to share my life with someone else other than Eve.’
