Drew Barrymore celebrates 49th birthday with Madame Tussauds wax figure

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon presenter, 49, who co-starred with Barrymore in the 2005 film fever pitch, appeared via video on her talk show of the same name to let the birthday girl know that she was receiving a very special honor.
“Hey buddy. Congratulations. I have a little surprise for you,” Fallon said. “You’re about to come with me to one of the most exclusive clubs in the world. You get your own wax figure at Madame Tussauds. Happy birthday, it happens. Love you.”
Barrymore was shocked as the live audience cheered.
“Oh, my God,” Barrymore said to her cohost Ross Matthews and their guest, Saturday evening live alum Rachel Dratch, who also celebrated her birthday. “Are you joking?”
Mathews assured her that they were not joking and, together with Dratch, presented an exhibition of four wax figures sent by the museum.
Barrymore was in awe when they unveiled Fallon’s figures, Harry Styles, Rihanna And Steven Spielbergwhich Barrymore directed ET the extraterrestrial in 1982, when she was 7 years old.
“These are so lifelike. This is so crazy,” the talk show host exclaimed to Mathews, 44, and Dratch, 57. “I’ve never seen them up close, guys. This is incredible.”
When Mathews asked, “How do you feel about having your own wax figure?” Barrymore responded, “I’ve never gotten to do anything like this before. I must admit that I always wondered, ‘Would I ever be chosen?’ And I didn’t think I would do that.”
“Well, surprise, you did,” Mathews said before adding, “Happy birthday.”
Barrymore joins an esteemed list of stars honored by the wax museum. Recent additions include replicas of Beyonce, Matthew McConaughey Jennifer Lopez And Megan Thee Stallion.
Before the show, Barrymore shared a video of herself walking into the studio and receiving birthday greetings from her staff.
Drew Barrymore has not held back about the difficulties of returning to the dating scene following her divorce from ex-husband Will Kopelman. “There’s no other way I would want to spend my 49th birthday than here with my @threwbarrymoreshow family. I am so grateful,” she said in a video of her dancing through the hallway with flowers and being surprised with balloons in her office.
Mathews had another surprise for him The wedding singer star. Outside the studio, Barrymore screamed when she saw her birthday included the arrival of the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.
When she was invited to actually get into the 90-foot-long orange and yellow vehicle and take a tour of Manhattan, Barrymore joyfully exclaimed, “I can’t believe I got to get into the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.” I’ve been waiting for this all my life.”
As she sat in the front seat with her Oscar Mayer hot dog in her hands, she said, “Oh my God, I don’t believe this. This is the best day ever.”
