I love my $8 drugstore lip color – it's exactly the same as the Tarte Maracuja

A BEAUTY fan has shared the $8 lip dupe that she said was a third of the price of a popular Tarte product.

After trying the dupe herself, she confirmed it was perfect.

Sofia (@koriandermaggi) shared the beauty demonstration in a TikTok video.

“I'm trying the new Elf Pout Clout Lip Plumping Pen,” she said.

After giving the pen a few clicks, she rubbed the end of the $8 gloss in the shade Mauve over her bare lips.

“Apparently it's very similar to the Tarte Maracuja Juicy lip,” she said.

On request, the nude shade added shine and color to her pout.

Sofia thought the Elf dupe was perfect for the $24 Tarte Tinted Lip Balm.

“Can confirm this is exactly the same as the Tarte Maracuja, only a third of the price,” she said.

One viewer was worried the dupe would burn or their lips would grow too big, but Sofia assured them there were no side effects.

“It's not super filling, to be honest! Has more of a cooling effect,” she said.

Many thanked her for putting them on the cheaper alternative and saving them money.

One Elf fan was excited to see the brand release a lip product in the same color as one of their old favorites.

“Mauve has been my go-to lip liner from them for years, so this is exciting!” they said.
