Three-time premiership winner Dustin Martin is rarely seen in public, but he recently made an exception with his pal, former Collingwood star Dane Swan.

The superstar was caught with friends enjoying the UFC this weekend – and he was caught trying to hide his beer under the table.

The photo, which Swan posted on Instagram, was also liked by St Kilda star Brad Hill, former Richmond premiership winner Jack Riewoldt and Brooke Warne, daughter of cricket great Shane Warne.

While Martin’s friends, including Swan, Harlan Camilleri – the son of Australian music icon Joe Camilleri – and hospitality mogul Steven Hiles happily posed for a photo with a beer in hand, Dusty tried to hide his under the table.

Unfortunately for him, eagle-eyed fans noticed the fresh beer rings on the table in front of him and the gig was over.

“Haha Dusty has three fresh beer glass rings in front of him,” a follower responded.

“And a pint in his hands under the table, that suits him,” another added.

“Dusty trying to be sneaky, we see it as king, enjoy,” another posted.

Others wondered why he tried to hide the beer in the first place.

“Why is he even trying to keep it under the table?” someone asked.

“It’s a sad state of affairs when a young guy can’t go out and have a drink with friends,” another lamented.

‘Looks like someone has the week off. Too bad for us Adelaide supporters. Enjoy the well-deserved celebration,” said another fan.

It comes amid speculation that Martin will retire at the end of the season or – as footballer Brendan Fevola predicted – leave the Tigers to reunite with coach Damien Hardwick on the Gold Coast.

Martin looks to be rested for Richmond’s trip to the Adelaide Oval on Thursday night to take on the Crows, allowing him to reach a major milestone on the club’s home ground.

Martin is just one game away from becoming the seventh Richmond player to reach 300 games.

The three-time Norm Smith medalist will almost certainly hit the target at the G against Hawthorn next week.

‘It won’t be about that [the milestone]”That will be because we are taking a five-day break,” Tigers coach Adam Yze said.

“We will probably have three or four players in that category, based on their age and workload, who could pose a high risk to play against Adelaide anyway.

‘We are all about performance.

‘He wants to play, but if that means the risk is too great given the five-day break and the travel; We will make that decision later this week.’
