From there, Deepika developed a taste for this particular Bhutanese dish called Ema Datshi. It is also called the national dish of Bhutan.

Ema Datshi consists of green and red peppers, cheese made from Yak milk and butter. Enriched with peppers, onions and tomatoes, this tasty dish is ideal for lunch or dinner. A STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO CREATING DEEPIKA PADUKONE'S FAVORITE GO-TO BHUTANESE EMA DATSHI

  1. Heat a pan
  2. Add tomatoes, onions, bell pepper, chili peppers, green peppers, garlic cloves, salt and black pepper
  3. Drizzle oil over the ingredients
  4. Add a cup of water to the pan and stir the ingredients well
  5. Increase the heat to high and cover the pan with a lid
  6. Let the mixture boil for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally
  7. Once the vegetables are cooked and the mixture has thickened slightly, increase the heat to medium-high.
  8. Add butter and cheese to the mixture
  9. Stir well until the cheese is melted and completely incorporated into the dish
  10. Adjust the seasoning if necessary.
  11. Serve the Ema Datshi hot with steamed rice or Chappati
