ENGLAND came from behind to beat Wales in a nail-biting encounter with Twickenham.

Steve Borthwick's side got off to a nightmare start when Ollie Chessum went into the sin bin for a high tackle on Kieron Assiratti.

The Red Roses were given a reprieve when VAR decided not to upgrade his penalty to red, but he was soon joined in the sin bin by Ethan Roots, leaving England with just ten men.

Things went from bad to worse for England when Wales then took the lead through a penalty.

But the hosts worked their way back into the match and when Ben Earl touched down they had a chance to level the match.

However, George Ford was unable to complete his conversion as he hesitated in his run-up, allowing Wales to play freely.

The visitors must have thought it was going to be their day, especially when Alex Mann beat two defenders to score Wales' second try of the match.

Wales led 14-5 at half-time, but England fought back brilliantly, and Ford's penalty in the 48th minute gave them much-needed momentum.

England then started to play their best rugby of the match and got their reward when Fraser Dingwall touched down in the corner.

Ford missed the resulting tricky conversion but soon gave England the lead when he kicked a penalty from close range – Mason Grady was shown a yellow card for the deliberate knock-on that resulted in the penalty.
